I recently visited Chattar Pattar – India Street Food here in Austin, and I was honestly impressed! As a student living in America, it’s not easy to find Indian street food that truly tastes authentic, but this food truck exceeded my expectations.

The flavors are bold, fresh, and exactly like real Indian street food you’d find back home. Everything was well-prepared, hygienic, and served hot. You can tell the food is made with care and quality ingredients. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better.

If you’re in Austin and craving authentic Indian street food, I highly recommend visiting Chattar Pattar. It’s a must-try for students, locals, and anyone who loves flavorful food!

Great vegetarian food choice! I was not planning on a vegetarian rescue meal (I did not eat breakfast and lunch at work) but I picked the veggie pizza sandwich and surprisingly delish! I may have asked for naan bread instead of the sandwich bread they have but the taste of the sandwich was so good! They have the buzzer to get your order when it’s ready. You can eat on site they actually have two tables if you choose to eat on site. I ordered mine as takeout. Great value I only ate half and was full already! Clean and with parking adjacent to the gas station. Recommended!

We tried the paneer tikka kathi roll and katchi dabeli. The dabeli was absolutely spot on — flavorful and perfectly balanced. The roll was grilled, but it felt more like a wrap made with a flour tortilla instead of a lacha paratha-style roti. The paneer filling had good flavor, though a bit heavy on sauce — I was hoping for more grilled paneer tikka pieces and less creaminess. Overall, tasty but could be more authentic.

Pretty good, you can tell they really put their soul in food. PS it is under new management cause some menu is outdated, so new management food is good. I got wrap, ulta vada pav, sandwich all yum!

Who knew you could find good Indian food in a gas station parking lot? Located in front of Chevron gas station, this super colorful trailer serves some great Indian and Indo-Chinese food. I got the paneer tikka kathi roll which is essentially a wrap filled with paneer, green bell pepper, purple onion and covered in an almost spicy mayo sauce. It was delicious! My friend who is Indian got the ragada chaat and enjoyed it. Also their spice level is true Indian spice – I got medium and was slightly tearing but not in a bad way. Off menu they have an amazing mango lassi – it is deliciously creamy and the mango flavor is very strong which I love. They also have dosas there and it is very decent size – my other friend got it as mild and will say the mild is pretty mild.

If you’re ordering to go would recommend calling about 20-25 minutes prior you wanting the food as it does take some time to prepare. I ordered via phone at 2:43 pm and went to pick up at 3:10 pm and the food was barely just ready.

Parking wise since it shares with gas station there are parking spots next to it and next to UPS as well. Eating area they have 2-3 picnic tables underneath the tree.

Highly recommend! Excited to see what other food they have.

Visited Chat Patar for the first time and tried the Paneer Grill Sandwich and Paneer Tikka Kati Roll. The kati roll felt a little pricey for the portion, but the sandwich was definitely worth trying. They offer a wide variety of chaat and street food options, so there’s plenty to explore.

The food is good, but the service is very slow on weekends. We had a bad experience waiting for our order — they ran out of bread and didn’t notify us until 40 minutes later, only when we went up to ask about it.
