To start, service was great! Owner was very attentive. First time coming here and was not disappointed. We ordered nopales con huevo and chorizo con huevo. Portions are not to big, but perfect for those who don’t like to over eat. Very home made flavors. Cafe de la Hoya s amazing and each cup is about $4.50each no free refills. We saw it in our bill, we got a total 4 cups at $17.50. Owner told us coffe is from Veracruz which is why they don’t give free refills. That is the only downside since I love to drink at least 2 cups. Lol
They make fresh salsas 3 types and all salsas are amazing! One of my best thing about this restaurant is that they serve hand made blue corn tortillas!!!! So delicious!!
We are definitely coming back to eat breakfast again and have at least 1 cup of cafe de la Hoya de veracruz!! Ha ha : )

This spot was so lovely. upon our arrival we were greeted by friendly staff. We ordered cafes de olla which were delicious (not too sweet, just right), we got conchas to go with our coffee. We also ordered mole de olla which reminded me of Puebla’s sason. Mole de olla was so delicious, to me it tastes like caldo de res with mole paste. It was delicious specially in the rainy season. my husband got a menudo which was also great! Very tasty flavor. The meal came with hand made purple tortillas. I really loved the flavor of all the food and different salsa. My favorite salsa was the peanut salsa. Definitely want to come back to get the mole de olla or possibly try something new from the menu.

This place should get 10 stars! The food here is soooo good. The handmade tortillas are exceptional. I got the Barbacoa and a gordita and my wife got huevos rancheros. We were both so happy with our food. The salsas also taste amazing. The service was great and the people were nice. Highly recommend going here. It’s not often you find food that tastes like the food in Mexico. Parking is a little tight but worth it.

The food was really good and full of flavor! The customer service was super friendly and welcoming. They also have outdoor seating, which is a nice touch. Just a heads-up — there’s a sign for parking in the back, but they only have about four spots, so parking is limited. You might need to find parking on the street. Overall, definitely worth visiting!

We were greeted by a friendly staff and received super-fast service. The food was delicious; I ordered a quesadilla de chorizo y papas. I do wish the chorizo had a more pronounced taste, but overall it was good. The Pambazo had a great taste, and each of the salsas provided had a distinct flavor, which I truly enjoyed. The aguas are made in-house, and you can genuinely taste their authenticity. We will definitely be returning when we are in the area.

A great little place with delicious good. The environment was very welcoming, the staff was attentive. The price on the juices are somewhat high but they do make them out of real fruits and vegetables which justifies the price.

They got a small menu which was advertised as authentic mexican cuisine. I liked that they had blue corn tortillas. But I was not able to find something outstanding on the menu, so I chose the blue corn quesadillas. A small one costs about $8 which i find somewhat overpriced considering that 2 will not be filling and it does not come with any sides. The location is very small with few tables and it is not that cozy. More like a to-go place. Staff is very friendly though.

A Hidden Gem in Huntington Park
My son invited me to lunch to a place he found named El Sabor de Barrio, it’s a family owned Mexican restaurant and what an incredible find!
Everything we ordered was bursting with flavor. Every bite transported us straight to Mexico City, with that deep, comforting authenticity that’s hard to find even in LA. You can tell this family takes pride in their roots and their cooking.
If you’re looking for a place that serves real-deal Mexican food, this is it! We’ll absolutely be coming back.
