Usually I like this place. But today, I asked for bottled water to buy and they said they don’t serve bottles of water. Then I asked for tap water and they tried to charge me $5. Me, not wanting to pay for tap water, said “I just want water.” The lady there told me the best she could do was give me the cup in the picture attached.
They gave me the world’s smallest cup. Smaller than the palm of my hand; two sips of water. If you need to hydrate, Panda Express better.

Honestly, Halal Shack is one of the top places that I like to eat on campus. I go almost every week and the service is always great and they’re very kind. One day, I decided to switch it up and one of the employees quite literally gave me the best bowl of my life. The food is great quality and I always have a good time eating it.

I have been a regular customer at Halal Shack and usually order the Hummus Bowl. In the past, the portions of rice and beef have always been reasonable and consistent.
However, today (2/18/2026), I was very disappointed with my experience. The portions served were significantly smaller than usual. The rice portion was extremely small, and the beef portion was only about one small spoonful. When I politely asked for a little more, the staff member laughed with another employee, and they both seemed to acknowledge that the portions were small.
This experience made me feel uncomfortable and dissatisfied. As a regular customer, I expect consistency and professional service. Because of this incident, my friend and I are reconsidering returning in the future.
