Had breakfast here we arrived at 9:45am and sat down immediately. Servers were very attentive and the food was great! We had a Caldo De Camaron and a Menudo. My Caldo de Camaron was great, reminded me of the one my grandma used to make for us in Bejucos, Mexico just missing the carrots. Menudo was great my husband said, I also noticed how it did not have hominy in it and that’s is how it is made in Mexico as well. We order 2 tacos to go and my daughter loved them. Definitely would recommend this place to my family and friends.

From out of town. Stopped in after a soccer game nearby. Great food, great and friendly service, and fun authentic atmosphere. Grateful to have found this place. You can tell the people that work here care about what they are doing and their customers. So cool.

I’m a returning customer, and I love it! The carne guisada tasted just like my abuela’s, and I ate the whole plate. I also tried the chavelos chicken, which isn’t super Mexican, but it was so good! It’s fried chicken with pico de gallo and melted cheese on top, and it tasted like a combo of really well-made fried chicken and Tex-Mex flavor. My partner had the chimichanga, but that was just okay. There is free parking, and the service was outstanding. I’m from South Austin, and I’ve visited all the Mexican restaurants in Buda downtown, I must say that out of all the Mexican restaurants in this area, this is the top one.

I’m blown away by the great flavor wow. Large portioned tacos with great sauce and service. Relaxed, tucked away environment with shaded picnic areas outside. Best in all of Buda I’m not exaggerating. Loved it. I would highly recommend them over the overpriced neighboring Garcia’s. Chavelo’s is “THE” spot yall! Inexpensive, clean, friendly, fast and so good.

Chevalos Mexican Restaurant in Buda has become our date night place for Tacos and Watermelon Margaritas. I’m not sure what magic they put into their crispy tacos but it’s addictive. We always sit outside under the massive trees and lights with hopes of getting a surprise of the train coming by if we’re lucky. Waitresses and staff are always smiling and friendly.

Good food and nice waitress. We had a great lunch here. I had a crispy taco with cheese enchilada. My wife had chicken enchiladas and my son enjoyed his kids burger. Every one was happy. Atmosphere made me feel like I was right at home and pricing was good.

Really enjoyed dinner here. Staff was awesome and attentive. Free chips and salsa was good, Queso was very subpar (very very runny velveeta). The chicken enchiladas were delicious and our favorite was the fajitas. Their margaritas were amazing and will definitely be returning. Prices were reasonable.

I love my tacos and my guacamole. Also, when I asked for spicy salsa, I got spicy sauce.
This is definitely worth the side trip even if you’re not in the area.
