Morning cycling around the beautiful City, I visited a morning coffee shop and had a light breakfast. The cafe has a location overlooking the beautiful Yacht area, a poetic river. The staff is polite and professional, the preparation is very delicious, the drinks are also delicious. The morning is crowded with customers, and the sun is beautiful. The price is normal and reasonable, everyone can come and enjoy. Thank you to the waiter. Thank you to the chef. I will come back

Louise Petit serves exquisite French cuisine with service that makes you feel instantly welcome. The staff are attentive, friendly, and truly professional. The elegant, cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for a special night out. It’s a bit pricey, but the quality and experience are absolutely worth it!

This place is a little fairytale within the city. A beautifully curated space where everything is just right. From delicious tea’s, perfect Madeleine’s and the best scrambled eggs in town. The staff is lovely the location is amazing. We love coming here. One tiny little tip to the restaurant owner: dresscode, obviously not for the staff as the always look immaculate, but recently the Lulu Lemon horror has arrived and it’s really gross to sit next to people who just went for a run, wet hair, tight outfits and gleaming spandex pants on a velvet couch. I think it is appropriate to have a little sign saying something like: no workout clothes please. Go have a lovely warm shower at home, put on that nice jacket and beautiful dress, and see you in a bit!

We went here for lunch (Louise Petit Dejeuner). This was on my foodie list for quite some time and had some expectations due to good reviews of others. However the food didn’t meet my expectations. I was somewhat dissappointed. I mean the food wasn’t bad. But it was not good either. Especially for that price level. Also we got a “Boulangers Latte” which contained Maldon Sea Salt, and it was SO salty. Like holy cow. The service was good, sadly the food was not on par.

I visited Louise Petit Restaurant in Rotterdam to celebrate my birthday, drawn by its reputation as an authentic Parisian bistro, as highlighted on their website. The ambiance promised a charming French experience with classic dishes, and I was eager to try it out.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the beef ribs, which were incredibly tasty and melt-in-your-mouth soft—perfectly prepared and full of flavor. Our waitress elevated the experience further with her friendly and attentive service. She took the time to guide us through the wine menu, recommending a bottle that paired beautifully with our meal, showcasing the restaurant’s focus on quality French cuisine and wine.

However, the evening wasn’t without its downsides. The restaurant was extremely noisy and crowded, which detracted from the intimate bistro vibe I expected based on their description of a “cozy” setting. A group of over 20 people at the next table were constantly shouting, making it hard to enjoy our conversation. By the end of the night, I left with a headache from the overwhelming noise.

Overall, while the food and service were stellar, the chaotic atmosphere made it challenging to fully enjoy my birthday celebration. I’d recommend Louise Petit for its delicious dishes and warm staff, but perhaps visit on a quieter night to truly savor the experience.

We went here to celebrate my birthday. They were always kind and, while they were bringing our dessert, they gave me a little surprise for my birthday. That was very kind. Personnel were friendly and helpful. Portions of main dishes were not too big but you can be very satisfied with the side dishes that come with main dishes. Dishes were tasty but lamb was better than chicken in my opinion. Crème brûlée was really tasty as well. They have nice wine options and you can taste them before ordering

The restaurant presents a menu that adopts French terminology but does not follow French culinary discipline. Techniques are applied competently, yet without a clear hierarchy or sense of restraint. Flavours tend either toward caution or toward excess, often relying on multiple sauces and components where structure and simplicity would suffice. The cooking shows effort and care, but lacks clarity of intention.

The overall impression recalls everyday dining one might encounter near Les Halles in Paris or in a provincial town such as Châtellerault. Correct, accessible, and largely forgettable. There is little sense of place, season, or personal signature. Nothing is technically flawed, yet nothing asserts itself.

If this level of reference is the intended benchmark for French cuisine, the execution is accurate.
If higher ambition is claimed, the kitchen does not meet it.

French in name only.

I love coming back to this place. To my taste, the food is really, really good—elegant yet comforting, with rich flavors and perfect execution.
Great attention to details and simple things. One example, I wish I knew where to buy the Jersey butter they serve—it’s absolutely divine.

One downside, though: the kitchen smell tends to cling to your clothes, especially anything you hand over to the wardrobe. Be prepared to wash jackets afterward.

Having visited and brought friends and family over the years it was a disappointing miss this time around.
We were the first customers seated for lunch but it still took more than an hour for our order (cote de boeuf) to get to our table. Waitstaff didn’t know what a Sauternes was, and asked several times if it was really what I ordered as an aperitif. Later on I asked for a glass of Saint Emilion, which was on offer as coravin bottle, but the staff apparently heard Semillion, and started to pour another Sauternes. Had to correct them several times to a point I was nearly shouting. When the wine came it was already in the glass, unlike many times before when it was poured table-side. And finally, the cote de boeuf went mostly uneaten after it was initially sent back due to being too raw, before being recooked and sent back to us, looking unappetizing and sad on the plate. We didn’t bother with dessert. There goes one of the few decent restaurants in Rotterdam.

This place is perfection. Everything from the furniture to the cutlery, staff uniforms to the food and location. A gem for the city. Feels like a miniature holiday. Also, they have the best waterbowls for dogs ⛲️
