I’ve ordered the al pastor tacos, spicy carnitas tacos and their steak burrito. It was all EXCELLENT and I’m pretty sure they make their own corn tortillas. Very very good and authentic! Plus their prices are very hard to beat. Most places are charging $16 for three tacos, La Nova is around $12. Can’t beat it!
*Warning: their side sauces are HOT. I love it but shewwww, they have a lot of kick to them

I’m so disappointed bc we’ve been wanting to eat here for awhile and it’s soo close to home. I ordered shrimp fajitas which is supposed to come with rice, beans, tortillas, lettuce, sour cream & cotija cheese. It was missing the beans!! Which is a huge staple in fajitas & it was on the menu!! We got our food 30-40 mins before they closed so by the time we got home & sat down to eat and I noticed it was after 8, when they close on Sundays, so I was NOT happy! I can’t really eat peppers & onions(which is fine I know they put it with fajitas) but they had half container huge portion of peppers & onions and the other half all rice and the shrimp (they give 10 small/medium size which is decent) How did they miss the beans??!! They had to have known bc there was so much room for it in container. Now if they were out & told me that would be ok I would’ve ordered another item. We also ordered the deep fried chicken flautas to split and they were extremely dry. The guacamole was good but the rest was okay, nothing exceptional that would make me want to go back and try again. $63 is not a lot for what we ordered, we got 3 meals & large side of gauc, but the fact that my order was hugely wrong & my other one very dry left me very upset and disappointed for not getting a good meal out of that amount of money. Sadly, won’t be returning.

Today, I ordered takeout and I wasn’t disappointed. First time at the restaurant and I was greeted like I was family. Family owned and operated, which I love supporting local businesses. I meet the owners and family, and they were extremely cordial and friendly. The restaurant was nicely set up with plenty of seating. It was also very clean inside. I had the shrimp tacos with avocado and a side of rice. The meal was very flavorful and delicious. The sauces were very good as well. I’m looking forward to going back and trying out more of their authentic dishes. If you’re in the area, I highly recommended going there and giving it a try for yourself. If you like my review and photos, please give then a thumbs up and follow me for great locations to go. CHEERS…..

A good local Mexican restaurant I believe ran by a family:)
The lady was welcoming
Ambiance-
the ambiance was colourful and homely.
Plenty of seating inside.
Service-
Service was good and quick. The server was polite.
Food –
We ordered
Chicken burrito- my friend loved the burrito,
was freshly cooked and the red salsa/sauce the served made it more delicious.
the quantity was large so couldn’t finish the burrito in one go.
Fish Tacos- the fried fish could do more seasoning. I would prefer to taste their chicken tacos.
*** we ordered fresh fruit watermelon juice which was so refreshing ans good, one star goes for the fresh juice which they serve***
I think the dish prices can be better, i felt it is a bit pricey for the place.
In support of local restaurants, I would definitely recommend to try if you love homely Mexican cuisine they have good options.

If you are looking for traditional Mexican street food, this is the right place. The food is delicious and the service is exceptional. It is also a wonderful family restaurant, and it is great to see the whole family involved in the business.

La Nova is the definition of a hidden gem. It’s a small, unassuming spot that skips the flashy decor to focus entirely on what matters: incredibly authentic, soul-warming Mexican food. If you’re tired of “fusion” and just want the real deal, this is your place.

I have tried tacos from at least a dozen Mexican places in South Jersey over the past 3 years and this place (name changed about a year ago but pretty sure it remained the same staff) has consistently remained my favorite spot. You would think making a good taco would be rudimentary for any Mexican restaurant but you would be wrong! I have had some that were almost inedible (listen up Qdoba!) The tacos carnitas here are addicting and I eat them at least once a week. Just about every other taco I have tried has been right up there. Nothing fancy about the place, but truly top notch quality, and isn’t that all that really matters?
