Stopped by because I was in the mood for some smoked ribs. The ribs are not smoked competition level. ( Nor do I think they are suppose to be) Really a soulfood spot with a little flair! I had the rib plate with greens and yams. Everything was good and seasoned well. I will ask for more juice on yams when I return.
The ribs were good. NOT competition level good but family cookout good. . Prices for ribs are a little pricey BUT that’s with EVERYTHING nowadays. Ribs were tender, seasoned well, sauce is good and I like the cut and plating. I’m more of a dedicated BBQ joint guy, so please don’t take my review as a negative. Your BOI Tha RIBOLOGIST is OUT ✌

Came back today for the fried catfish, fried haddock, collard greens, cabbages, Okra.
Glad my friend told me about this new place. He said the ribs and fish were great and they definitely were.

CatFish-10/10 fresh, crispy, good price/portion. The cabbage and greens were delicious 10/10. No meat in them and very flavorful, we love it, could’ve ordered a pan of greens and cabbages.

Ribs- 10/10 great price and portion. They were easily 18+ bones & tips in that box. Four people ate off of it. Wasn’t heavily seasoned like the young folks do but more traditional like an Auntie or grandparent. I like that they cut them. I put my sauce on the side. Good & thin country style bbq sauce. Not smoked but old school grill taste.
At $37 for the whole slab I was hesitant, but it was fair and exceptional value.

Wings- 10/10 lemon pepper hot can be a bit salty but they were perfect size, crunch, freshness. At $15 being that they are so small they should come with some fries.

Potato Salad- taste good but too wet. I’d reduce the creaminess and let those potatoes shine.

Coleslaw- good taste & texture but has sweet relish in it that is a bit overpowering. We typically put sweet relish in the potato salad & deviled eggs instead.

Peach Cobbler-great look and it had good crust but it was way too sweet. I would cut back on the sugar!

Steak Hoagie- ordered it without cheese. Probably taste better to you with cheese. Good soft bread I would like for it to come with more grilled onions and peppers. Just meat & bread.

Steve’s Fries-please update the menu to say that it comes with cheese on it. I’m Lactose intolerant. Saddened that I Didn’t see any beef sausage, jalapeños, banana peppers or onions, The sauce taste like a thinned gold bbq sauce. At $15 (should be $12 even with the toppings) I need all them toppings.

Green beans-really good for canned beans-would prefer fresh.

$5 hamburger. Great price/value. Decent frozen patty could be smoked to add more flavor. Good thick bread. I’d upgrade that patty, lettuce, tomato, pickle with fries on a toasted bun and charge $13 instead.

Great customer service inside and over the phone. Legit quality business. I imagine this place will be swamped once everybody understands the new gem we have. Ordering is at the entrance and not conducive for a long line. The restaurant aesthetic is on the basic side and I feel with all the incoming money they’ll be able to make continuous improvements to the point where they may even fully redecorate/renovate or relocate. Highly recommend and plan on coming back.

Stumbled upon a hidden gem. I was doing some errands and got out of the car and was like ohh my gosh that smells good. Went in last week Friday to get an early dinner while my car was being serviced across the street and let me tell yoouuuuuuu, they did not disappoint. What you see is our first meal. We had a rib dinner, catfish dinner, jerk loaded fries, the corn bread is a must, Mac and cheese, collards and fried okra. How about everything was good. Today we tried the Steve loaded fries, shrimp dinner, corn bread, and one of the chicken hoagies. People you got to give it a try and yes there is a bar. His drinks are on point. We had a rum punch and a long Island. It was so nice we did it twice. We ordered food to go because we were cheating on the kids and they loved it too. Check it out we absolutely love it and plan on doing the whole menu.

I really thought that Steve was from NC. He cooks like my Ruffin family from my younger days.
I had BBQ chicken that was oh so tender. Along with some baked Mac n cheese. Now, what won me over, was the greens. Yes, home cooked fresh collard greens. I finally found collards that are compatible to NC collards.
You guys must come to Fayetteville GA and try Steve’s BBQ & Soul Food.
It is worth your trip.
The prices are reasonable. His wife, Denise, was our waitress and she was like your big sister keeping the house clean and making sure everyone was happy and satisfied.

If you haven’t been yet, I highly recommend Steve’s Barbecue and Soul Food! The food is truly authentic “slap your grandma” soul food. My hubby had the half rack ribs with cabbage, collard greens, Yams and corn bread. I had the fried chicken wings with baked beans, Mac and cheese and yams (yes I broke my diet). We both brought peach cobbler home and have not tried it yet. Spoiler alert, you will wait a little bit to get your food however, it’s because it is being prepared fresh to order. And well worth it! They’re located in the old Jones pharmacy building. Check them out, the owners are from Buffalo, New York, and also just bought a house in Fayetteville so they are local. Very down to earth pleasant and nice. Let’s all come together to support this Black own business in Fayetteville!

I’m from out of state and have a habit of never eating at the same place more than once in a week. Well let’s just say I had dinner here ever night I was in Fayetteville. Bbq Chicken bomb, bbq ribs dear Lord. The sauce was flawless. I didn’t even have a chance to take a pic before digging in and couldn’t stop. The textures… Crispy and juice.

We ordered two to-go plates from here, but when we got home we realized our order was incorrect. We ordered fried chicken and hot wings, and unfortunately the items we received were not what we expected.

Considering the prices charged, we expected better accuracy and overall service quality. We hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future customers.

We looked this restaurant up last minute and LET ME TELL YALL SOMETHING‼️ We had the best service I’ve ever experienced ever! Food came out fresh and HOT! We had two waitresses who were overly amazing! We were a party of 13 and they waited on us hand and foot! The food was delicious! Their collard greens were sooooo good I got two servings! lol! Overall our experience was 1000/10!!! If you’re in the area please give them a try, you won’t be disappointed! Oh and I forgot to mention the DJ!!! We had a wonderful experience while eating!!

Yeah dont think I will be back. I can tell the reheating the food beside the meat. Got the catfish dinner and the fish is good but the Mac and cheese is dried out and yams seems overcooked. Then how is my peach cobbler cold. I have never in my live been served cold peach cobbler from no restaurant. I did give them a try though. Oh well

I loved the fact that none of the sides have pork in them. I had the catfish, mac & cheese, collards and they were good especially the catfish which I normally don’t eat because it taste like pond dirt but theirs was well seasoned. I couldn’t give them 5 stars for 2 reasons 1. They did not have BBQ or fried chicken which was the main reason I stopped by 2. This is the FIRST restaurant I have ever been to that that charged me for seltzer water/club soda.
