The atmosphere here is really cool, I loved the decor and vibes as soon as I walked in. They were pretty busy for a Monday night and they seem to be short staffed because there wasn’t anyone at the door. Another group waiting informed me that I should write my name on the list myself, so I did. Once we got sat it was my friend and I’s first time here so we were hoping for a run down of the menu, maybe some recommendations on what dishes are most popular etc… (you know a pretty normal dining experience if you ask me). But our server came over after we sat there for quite a while and just asked if we were ready to order, we asked about sake recommendations and our server just told us to get the house sake. He didn’t seem interested in engaging with us, we told him it was our first time there, and he just asked if we were ready to order. So we just picked a couple of things on the spot. The food was fine, and I’m not one to complain about service very often, but I felt like our server was just not interested in helping us, which could be due to low staff and being busy. Wasn’t the best experience, which is kinda disappointing since we were looking forward to trying this spot for the first time. There was a lot left to be desired I guess. Not sure if we will rush back after that experience… or lack of experience I should say.

I recently went here with family and I first ordered the gyoza, it was amazing, perfectly cooked wrapper and a salty sweet filling. As my main course I got the Tonkatsu Ramen. It had a light sweet broth and what had stood out was the eggs that come with it. They are called “Ashitamago” and have a nice soy sauce base with a salty and umami yoke. The staff were very friendly and gave good suggestions. The only downside to the place is the seating which was uncomfortable compared to standard restaurant seating. Overall I loved this place and would definitely recommend checking it out.

Our entire family (including a very picky 14 yr old) LOVES Yokocho Izakaya. We’ve been twice and plan to go as often as possible. The setting is so fun and feels like you’ve been transported. The food is off the charts good. We laughed that even the rice is above the board. Two of our favorite dishes (so far!) are the Agadashi Tofu and the Chicken Karaage. My 11 yr old loves the Tonkotsu Ramen… especially the egg. My husband and I had lunch there today. They have a really good lunch bento for $17. It includes Miso Soup, Seaweed salad, 2 gyoza, Yaki Onigiri and the before mentioned Chicken Karaage. Service is great, food comes out at a good pace and the entire atmosphere is fun. The photo is of the Agadashi Tofu. I am not lying when I tell you we ordered 2 of these bad boys. I can not say enough great things about Yokocho Izakaya. My only hope is that they stay around for a good long time!

This is my favorite restaurant! Try the savory mochi and the Thai iced tea Boba. The Asahi beer is served in a cold cup, soooo good!

Delicious, mostly authentic Japanese food. Music is a little loud but it’s a vibe and we enjoy coming here every time, my hubby and I. My kids also like it here! Shibuya toast is amazing!!

This place serves food that is all pre-made and simply reheated before being served. I ordered curry, and the food was entirely cold. The tonkatsu was made from pre-fried pork, which was reheated at such a high temperature that the exterior was completely burnt. Considering the low quality of the food, the prices are far too high, so I wouldn’t recommend this place. I see no reason to visit here again.
The chef, who is reportedly Japanese and the husband of the owner, seemed to be communicating in what sounded like Pilipino Tagalog. In any case, I strongly recommend looking for another Japanese restaurant instead.

We had lunch here and it immediately became our favorite Japanese restaurant in Bend. The staff was so friendly and attentive, the restaurant was super cute and clean, and possibly most importantly the food was amazing. We tried 5 different dishes and every one was faultless. Next time we’ll go at dinner and indulge in some of the alcoholic options, as those looked amazing as well. We will be back as often as we can!

Interior is great vibes and really loved the design. However, do not recommend coming because of the food. Came with a few friends and ordered a number of dishes. Gyu fried rice ($23!) was just reheated precooked meat on some fried rice and came out cold. The plain bowl of rice that came with the salmon was terrible. Karaage not very authentic
