So I have to be honest here! I got the burger and peach cobbler. Now the Burger was Huge, juicy, thick and cheesy. Just how I like it. The only thing is the quality of beef is slightly below average and it’s missing a bit of seasoning. I’m comparing to hundreds of burgers across the country that I’ve tried. So keep that in mind. Overall the burger was about a 3.6 for me out of 5. And the peach cobbler was a little to soupy and soft for me. I like mine more baked with a little crunch on the crust and less soupy. It wasn’t bad at all, just my personal preference in how I like mine. I give it about a 3.4 out of 5. I love support my people and small businesses owners in general. So I have to give a fair rating for the overall experience which is 4 ⭐️ but for the service, owners and etc outside of the food. I’m giving that a 5 ⭐️ I would definitely go back again to see what else they have to offer!

My husband and I visited the restaurant because we wanted some soul food and I didn’t feel like cooking. When we approached it, we prayed for a good experience and the Lord answered our prayers. This “hole in the wall” type of restaurant had exactly what we were looking for. We both had the fried pork chops, I had the smothered cabbage and succotash, my husband had rice with gravy and okra. The cook Eddie put his foot in all of that food and he had the best hospitality. Nothing was too salty, it could have been a bit hotter ( heat wise) but all in all everything was good. The pork chops were thick but juicy and had the right amount of crisp and spice. I believe it was reasonably priced we spent $31 and change for two entrees and four sides. We also got drinks. We are definitely going to go again.

Had the best experience for lunch at Ms R’s. I drove 15 miles to try this place in KCK, and I am glad I did.
The place is cozy, but clean and adorned with homages to Dr. King, Ruth (Ms R), and a painting of a black last supper.
I honestly came for the soul food sides. So I got a small double cheese burger, and a side of collard greens, stuffing and yams. Really great food for the price!

I grew up in KCK and never heard if this place until now. The food is off the chain. My sister said his mother was the original cook and now her son is the cook, and everytime I go the food is Excellent ! I recommend this place for sure. There is area to dine in but I prefer to do carry out

Perfect place & neighborhood gem.
I’m going to miss you when I move.
Real place where everyone is friendly and even strangers say hello, kind of have to because dining is tight. Still, it’s genuine & interesting to converse.
The food is wild good, simple but so memorable. Perfect sear on the philly & all buns, burger is large enough to intimidate ya. Best part is 5 star food for 3 or 4 star prices. They even care enough to wrap it up all nice, toothpicks & everything.
Please don’t let any frumpy burger photos sway you, they’re great and other dishes may be better.
Support this amazing place & support the neighborhood!

Nice warm greeting at the door. If you like little neighborhood cafes, this is your kinda place. Small and quaint. Ms. R definitely needs to spruce the place up a bit. She’s been cooking in this location for over 20 years, and it’s time. The double cheese was huge and the fish sandwich was fresh. If I’m in the area I will be back. They seem to have some good dinner specials.

I stopped by after visiting some friends in the area and I must say I was impressed! I ordered the baked chicken and dressing dinner with cabbage and yams and everything tasted like my grandma made it! The potion, price and customer service was a plus! I didn’t get a picture of the food but here’s the after. I will definitely be back!!!

I work in the area. So I’m always looking for new places to try. You get tired of the same old stuff. I stumbled across this little family owned establishment. They have a wide variety of items on their menu. I ordered the Monday special which was meatloaf, and 2 sides. I chose yams and cabbage. Well lets just say when you call in a order even tho they say 15 minutes it’s never ready when you get there. The meatloaf was very salty and falling apart. The cabbage was overcooked and soggy and the yams had a weird seasoning. I didn’t let that 1st time get to me though. I went back for their burger the next day. DING! DING! DING! DING! WE HAVE A WINNER!!! The burgers are hand patted and made to order and it was soooo good. Even if you order a “small” its pretty huge

The food is authentic and amazing. Prepared with pride homemade food! I have had the neck bones and the pork chops. Can’t wait to have the smothered steak and baked chicken. Sides have all been really good. Black eyed peas, cabbage, yams, green beans… This place makes me eat more than I probably should LOL.
