Everything about Twin Dragon is lovely. The exterior is so pretty, with its big neon sign and its frontage looking, well, so Chinese. It is so nice. Parking is in their lot or there is always a place on the street.
Once you walk it, you are warmly greeted and seated. The interior is old school Chinese with green booths, prepared tables and art everywhere. It is very comforting and you feel like you have actually left the city.
The service is great. They know the menu well and are happy to navigate you if you need. Our food was delivered to us hot and fresh. It was also pretty fast. Again, our server was wonderful.
The food is great. We had a selection of items. Their shrimp tempura is some of the best we have had, it is not over cooked or filled with too much tempura. Their BBQ pork rice is fantastic and is all of their noodle dishes. We were just so happy there.
We can’t wait to go back and order new things to try. We know it is going to be great.
For starters, the portions are smaller now. They are charging dinner prices for smaller plates.
I was absolutely SHOCKED with how little food we got for the price that we paid. We literally had to go eat dinner somewhere else after this because we did not get full from it.
The SERVICE Is AWFUL. We were CONSTANTLY GETTING IGNORED. I had to ask for sugar on 3 separate occasions.
By the way, Do NOT order the Ice Tea, it’s gross.
We ordered Appetizers and a soup which was a HUGE disappointment. Soup was Gross. The app was literally the last thing they ended up giving us, while we were done with dinner. Plus, they were giving it to another table, which we were confused about.
The actual food was” okay.” I mean, we were highly disappointed with it given the flavor and price.
The only thing NICE about it is the atmosphere, but I am not paying an arm and a leg just for the atmosphere.
I say skip out on it.
We ordered and paid for food online — for pickup a little over an hour later… when we arrived, the entrance was crowded with people trying to get their takeout orders… the restaurant was clearly overwhelmed and simply did not have the faintest idea how to deal with such a situation…
They basically had one restaurant worker who did pretty much nothing in the entrance area — really, not much…. maybe once every ten minutes utter a name softly for their pickup order…. and then there was the other guy, clearly stressed out, who after about 30 minutes of waiting, mind you we were all just standing waiting for our food, not in a chaotic way at all whatsoever, just standing and waiting:
“CLOSE THE DOORS, EVERYONE OUT” — like a child covering their eyes so that the problem would just go away…
And yes… we stood out in the POURING RAIN… for quite a while… after getting soaked, we went back in again regardless…
Also… another fun fact, that worker who was yelling was the only one (out of the 2) who sort of seemed like he might have a slight clue as to what was going on — and he was rarely there.. so… it was primarily a scene of customers clueless as to what was happening. Super awkward when you’ve already paid for a relatively large and expensive order, are waiting, and have no idea as to how long this may take (especially when it’s been an hour at that point). There was pretty much no meaningful communication regarding the situation.
After that hour of trying to get our order (true for the vast majority of people), it was clear that the food from this location was just not going to happen… especially after talking to another guy who ordered three days in advance – even checked yesterday that his pickup would be ok…. and he also had been waiting for well over an hour!!! I don’t recall exactly how long… but it had been for a longer period of time than us…
So, given this situation, we asked that the order be canceled — or at least tried… as there was realistically no helpful staff present. We finally were able to talk to the guy trying to have everyone wait in the rain, and it turns out there was no one available who knew how to cancel an order!! Now we’re in the situation in which the simple task of just leaving is intensely difficult. After his delivery of that news, he left. We and many others started to discuss the fact that the only way to potentially deal with the situation would be to contact the bank and cancel the payment that way. My partner pleaded that they at least start taking a list of cancellations to be handled once they had someone who knew how – pretty much pleading that they at least try to do a tiny, tiny bit of problem-solving…. but the guy who did pretty much nothing (because the yelling guy left – and was normally absent) obviously did nothing with that very straight forward and simple idea, and instead just stood around like one of the many patrons….
Finally, after quite some time of being stuck at this establishment, the guy who was trying to get everyone to stand outside in the rain returned and agreed to start writing down the names of people asking for a canceled order…
Honestly, I’ve worked at a pizza shop years ago, and I’ve dealt with difficult situations there before… delays, unforeseen issues… I get it — but their total and absolute lack of even trying to communicate or find at least partial solutions other than closing the door and having everyone wait in the rain after they had already paid for their food was intensely offensive!
Never in my entire life have I seen anything quite like this before. If you cannot deliver on an agreed-upon transaction… don’t take the order, and yes, life isn’t perfect and sometimes accidents happen… but for the love of god, at least communicate and try to be ever so slightly compassionate toward your patrons — don’t treat them like dirt!
This would be a negative star if I were allowed….
Both the waiter and manager were over their ski’s. Not only were they grossly incompetent, which I could have overlooked, they were downright mean. It took the staff over 20 minutes to come to us to take our order. Previous overtures to the waiting team were rebuffed.
And on top of that, the table next to us got their food before us even though we ordered 15 minutes before them and ordered overlapping items on the menu.
They seemed to have no regard for dietary restrictions.
I never write reviews but felt compelled to write one for the betterment of prospective customers.
Would love to hear back from the Twin Dragons management but know anything they write back would lack compassion.
