Amazing food, great customer services, & clean establishment. The fragrances from the smoke out made us turn around! Meat flavorful and juicy!
Defiantly will be back!

The pulled pork sandwich is delicious. It’s tender, moist meat on top of a great bun, with one or more of their delicious sauces. The Thai BBQ sauce is amazing, and the other sauces are great too!
The corn bread is notable, as in fantastic. Best I’ve had in St Louis.

We stayed just down the road from this delicious BBQ joint. We visited twice in the 6 days we were nearby… Which should tell you something about how good their BBQ is. The brisket, pulled pork and sausage was lights out. Five sauces to choose from ranging from sweet to tangy to spicy. Great selection of sides and a very happy family. Try it, you won’t be disappointed!

We have been to Vernon’s twice. The first time, they were out of beef brisket, but thought they might have some finished in about ten minutes, so I waited. Turned out not to be ready by that time, so I had the pulled pork, which was excellent. Because of the wait, they gave me an extra side (the baked beans, that were also very good). The second time, I had the brisket, which was also very good. My wife had ribs both times (and I tasted). They may be even better than the brisket. The staff is very friendly and it is a pleasure to eat here. No reason to go to Pappy’s unless it is Monday, when Vernon’s is closed.

The food at this place is really good. It’s in what I consider to be a bad location, because it doesn’t get much traffic, and is several blocks from the main Loop area. Don’t miss this place though, it’s great.

Their meat is cooked with a dry rub, and sauces are available in warmers off to the side. The beef brisket is my personal favorite, and they also have smoked fruits (seasonal) that are very tasty.

The place is a converted car repair shop, so a lot of open space with a nice decor. Staff is super friendly, and will happily exchange a side item if you taste it and don’t like it.

People who love BBQ will most likely enjoy a meal at Vernon’s. I usually get their pulled pork sandwich. It’s decent, but their food is not anything special, thus the “average” 3-star review. The sandwich bread tends to completely fall apart if you put any BBQ sauce (you can choose among ~4 different ones) on the sandwich. Cool building though.

This place was hands down the best BBQ I had while in St. Louis. It won out over The Shaved Duck and Salt and Smoke for me for a few reasons. 1. Warmed sauce. I’m an east coaster. I’ve never had the sauce warmed for me. I had no idea what a difference it could make! Also, variety of the sauces was great. there was a peach sauce that went great with the pulled pork, and a Thai peanut sauce that I couldn’t stop eating with the turkey. 2. Atmosphere… It’s like the place isn’t trying too hard. Shaved Duck and Salt and Smoke get a little hipstery… and LOUD! I like to be able to hear the people I’m eating with. 3. The actual food. The sides were incredible, and I’ve noticed they can be real hit or miss. And then there’s the BBQ. Pork was melt in your mouth tender, Turkey was to die for, and they were y favorite ribs yet. Lastly, price. I got A LOT of food for not as much money as over spent some other places.

Vernon’s is definitely one of the better BBQ spots in St. Louis. It also seems to be one of the least expensive ones. The meats are tender/smoked very well. I love how all of the sauces are available to customers through dispensers, so you can have as much or as many different ones as you’d like. The sauces are quite unique and are really what make the meals special. They also offer a great variety of sides, including the best corn bread in town by far! Even the buns here are delicious; most BBQ places tend to just give you some cheap piece of bread with your meal. All around thumbs up for this place!

New in town, an old resident recommended this place. Best ribs in St.Louis!!! Saucy, smoked and so damn delicious!!! If this is how St.Louis rib are supposed to be, you can serve it up to me anytime.

I had the Vernon Sampler with smoked wings and brisket. The side sauces add extra extra flavor. The sampler can feed three, but I’m hungry so it fed me for lunch and dinner.

Had a great experience here for my mom’s birthday party. We were a group of 10, and there was plenty of space and parking for us. The manager, Matt, called me a week ahead of our party date to make sure the restaurant would have the food cooked that we wanted. The food was fantastic, and everyone commented that they liked their meal. They even let us bring in cupcakes and decorations for our party. Definitely recommend this place to others!
