This company is probably one of the better Thai places in Durango. Unfortunately, we do not have many options. I specifically let the ownership know that I was on a low-carb diet so I didn’t want any noodles or rice. The woman that I was speaking to before told me to order off of their paper menu and she told me what numbers to consider, which were #5 and down through #22. I’ve only eaten here once before and took her suggestion literally.

I guess it’s the brother, or Manager as he stated on the phone that took my order. I asked for a number 9 without rice, and it’s listed under rice dishes. When I got home with my food, it was filled with noodles. I called to note the inconsistency and he turned it around on me stating that this is a noodle dish that is also served with rice and I only asked for no rice. I tried to point out to him that nowhere under the ingredients does it list noodles on this dish.

He never understood my reasoning and said that there were pictures of the dishes that I should have used when making my order. I didn’t see that there were any noodles on this that I needed to omit from my order. For all I knew these were rice noodles or an option. I am also not used to seeing both noodles and rice on the same dish and he stated that these were “tapioca” noodles, not rice, so that’s why they came. I could see his point, but he could not see mine. He raised his voice at me and accused me of harassing him, which I felt was rather strong because I called in a calm voice, to explain my logic, but he did not care. He said this was my fault entirely, which I don’t agree with but you can see the picture of the menu for yourself.

At the end of the day, if a customer has a concern or a complaint, they simply want to be heard. There was no customer service tone in anyway, I even had to ask him to stop interrupting me for just a minute so I could complete a sentence. If anything, I simply wanted to have them understand what happened so it can help other customers in the future.

As far as the food, there was no depth of flavor on dish #9, but if you like noodles, go for it. I ordered it medium and the spice was just right. I give this dish a 3/5 on just the flavor. Given the size of the serving, it could have used way more mushrooms, cilantro, and peanuts to balance out the dish. It came loaded with bamboo shoots, noodles and there was ample pork and onion. However, the pork was over cooked and tough. I give my experience a 1, and for overall score, of 2.

A note to the Owner, shaming your customers does not win them over. A customer doesn’t know what they don’t know. If an item has noodles in it, simply state it on the menu.

Edit: we had one of the curried soups as well and it was delicious. I would order that again.

I was so excited going to try their food, I was expected it’s going to be authentic Thai food. But after I have placed my order I don’t think the owner is Thai coz I don’t understand her Thai language ( I am Thai ) seemed like she just be able to speak Thai a little bit. Anyway when the food was served I was so disappointed the food taste so bad and it comes with a paper plate and a plastic to go bowl. There are many kind and nice containers for food. The owner should be considers use those instead. Eating with paper plate and plastic to go bowl makes the food taste even worse!

I recently tried the pad Thai at all the Thai restaurants in Durango and this was not only my favorite but also the cheapest. Be warned, the Thai hot level of spice is not for the faint of heart, but if you can tolerate some heat you’ll find it scratches that itch.

This place was suggested by the visitor center here in Durango, CO. AMAZING! the egg rolls are probably the best I’ve personally had! This is the second time I’ve eaten here in a 3 day span. Not a big place but who cares! Get some good food at a great price! I’ll be here again before I leave. They do cater to food allergies, just ask!

Ordered to go – medium spice for a pad Thai and a green curry. The pad Thai is flavorful, not bad. My green curry is just spicy slop with no flavor at all other than hot. I love hot stuff but I want a flavor and not just a pain. I would not be able to tell you it was green curry because it had no taste. Pretty disappointing meal for $30 bucks.

My husband also had a very awkward experience picking it up where he was not greeted and completely ignored by the girl at the front. Finally he had to ask if the to go bag was for him.

Can’t comment on the atmosphere because I didn’t go in.

The service was friendly, but the food was only okay. Quaint little restaurant with only a handful of seats for dine-in. We ordered a curry dish and stir-fry dish; I don’t recall the names. After not eating all day because of delays in my travel schedule, I was disappointed my dinner was so blah. I would not return.

Some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. I’m not sure what was better, the food or the service. My wife and I will be coming back for years to come. Amazing!

So this place started out really good…. The egg rolls were delicious. Only reason for two stars. Now my pad thai is another story. Ordered medium spice and it definitely was not that. More close to hot to thai hot. I love spicy food, so I tried to power through. But after the 4 bite I couldn’t get my nose to stop running and my lips are on fire. Total waste of money and they will never get my business again. I will go to thai hut from now on. They are not good either… but better than this place. Look at all the chili oil In the bottom of my dish! No flavor, bland expect for the taste of chili oil. Definitely worst thai food I have ever had.

I had a wonderful experience at this establishment! My wife has a severe gluten allergy, so it’s hard to find a place that will take this into account but Sizzling Siam did! Not only this, but they have already pre-marked which dishes are gluten free, and they make sure to prepare them in a way as to not cross contaminate. The costumer service and the food itself was wonderful! We both got medium spice as we really like spicy and this definitely met our expectations. As a side note, if you’re not really into spice try the mild or regular. I will definitely be going back again!

The food was delicious but it made my wife and I both sick to our stomachs the following couple of days. Atmosphere and service were ok. Nothing to rave about.
