My family and I have been coming to San Jose Del Cabo every December since 2008 and this is now our favorite restaurant.

Food, drinks, ambience, presentation, service…hospitality at its finest. The owners are a beautiful young, humble and kind couple too, who took the time to check in with us as well as tell us their story.

I wish I took more pictures but everything we ordered had us savoring every bite!

We will be back next year for sure!!

Had a wonderful meal here. After a week of delicious tacos in La Ventana/El Sergento my better half wanted sushi and WOW did we find it here. After a bottle of sake we may have gotten a little carried away trying everything on the menu and spent a fine dining price but we were not disappointed as the service, food and feel lived up to the high price point. Highlights being the agadashi tofu, crispy rice with tuna tartar and most of all the porkbelly gyozas; amazing! Cannot express how much you need to try these gyozas. The quality of the fish on the nigiri was second to none. The chocolate dumplings with ice cream were a nice way to finish. Only one of the rolls didn’t live up to expectations. That said a very positive experience. Francisco took care of us with impeccable service, ellagant professionalism and a calm humor. We throughly enjoyed his company. Thank you Omakai. Keep up the good work.

We went to omakai after reading about it in on the Michelin guide website.
Although the sushi was objectively good, it was massively overpriced for what it is.
If you want the omakase, make sure to be very clear as it seems it’s on an entirely different menu. Maybe it’s a language barrier but even though we asked for it, we were directed to the “chef’s choice” nigiri 12 piece. After the meal the same waiter told us “next time you come, try the omakase”. When we asked where this was available he said it was on a different menu.
We also had a bait and switch with the wine.
Perhaps it was an off night (2 other tables in a Friday), but we were left mystified as to how this place was mentionned in the Michelin guide. There are better bang for your buck sushi options within walking distance.
One of the rare time we have been truly underwhelmed by a restaurant in Cabo.

It may seem odd getting Japanese food in Mexico but when you’re tired of eating delicious tacos and ceviche and are looking for something fancy and different, this is the place to check out.

The sashimi and hand rolls were on point. The Chutoro was our favorite, followed by the hamachi and toro and spicy salmon. We will be back here for sure.

This restaurant provided the unequivocal best meal of our trip. It’s not your typical neighborhood sushi place; it’s a more refined experience, and I wouldn’t recommend bringing children expecting California rolls and hibachi theatrics.

There are essentially two dining options: A la Carte or Omakase. I strongly recommend the Omakase. During our visit, there were three Omakase choices: a 12-course, a 15-course, and a 20-course option. You can start with the 12-course and upgrade to the higher tiers, paying only the difference.

Some of the more traditional sushi (mostly nigiri, in this case) were exceptional. There were also interpretations of standards, like those with foie gras. While not bad, they were a bit excessive and overshadowed the fish. I should also note that, ideally, sushi rice should be loose and served warm or at body temperature. The rice started this way but cooled down throughout the meal.

Despite these minor criticisms, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting.

This was such a nice restaurant. Ambiance 5/5 , service 6/5, and the food was equally excellent fresh, complex flavors, we’ll be returning!

Some of the best Japanese food I have ever had – the fresh fish was buttery soft and the flavours were delicious. The fried gyoza was the best I have had. Service was also incredible, absolutely recommend – sad I cannot come here all the time as I live out of country.

The chocolate clams were amazing! The prices are very good. We got the tuna nigiri and a hot stone rib eye. The tonkatsu ramen was pleasantly good without being too fatty and a decent sized portion.

We are so glad we found this place. We strolled the darling streets of San Jose and ended up with a reservation here, where we were welcomed warmly into the most stunning, modern, zen-like restaurant. The cocktails were lovely, and the sushi was outstanding. We were pleased to just ask for recommendations and ended up with the perfect meal. The entire team was attentive and kind, and the quality of the food was great. A bonus is how reasonably priced it was for the quality and ambiance. We’d most certainly go back!

The best sushi I’ve had in my life. Reasonable price for the quality. Everything we had we wanted more of. I had to get a second bowl of the steak fried rice. Sushi melted in your mouth.
