Found this by accident. Glad I did. Everything was delicious. Prices seem high, but the portion size is bigger than what I’m used to, so it is reasonably priced. The Blue Fin special was delicious. I have never had Kama Toro – it just melted in your mouth. Try it with the more citrus wasabi (ask them for it). The Uni pasta was also good. Servers were patient and helpful.

I came in at 5:15pm. Call in for reservations. I was lucky to get the last walk-in available. Every walk-in afterward had to make reservations for the following day, as it was already booked the rest of the day.

The food is absolutely amazing. I ordered so many stuff and all of them were awesome. I love otoro. I think 100 bucks for a big bowl of otoro is pure joy for me. It was fresh and fatty…my companion is a picky eater and she also loved all the food. The service was kinda bad for whatever reason.

I’m from Hawaii, where I’ve gotten used to eating freshly caught local fish all the time — so when I moved to Vegas, I honestly didn’t expect to find sushi that could hold up. But Shigotonin really surprised me.

The fish quality was excellent. They said it’s flown in from Kyoto, and you can tell. Everything tasted fresh and clean. My favorite was the golden eye snapper with konbu shio — subtle, elegant, and perfectly seasoned. I also had the bluefin temaki set, which had crisp nori and a generous portion size. (Maybe a bit too generous? Everything here tends to be cut big — not exactly delicate knife work, but hey, you won’t leave hungry.)

Service was personal and kind. The owner greeted every guest, and Max took my order, he went out of his way to help me choose a balanced set of dishes without overlap. He even used his phone to show me the menu visually, which helped a lot! Thank you Max and Bayu for good service!

If I had to nitpick, I’d say the plating and presentation could use a little more love. The black table and plates make the food kind of blend in, and some dishes (like the scallop carpaccio) tasted great but looked a bit plain. A touch of garnish or color would help. Also, the booth seats had no back support — not a big deal, but something to note.

I finished with the sweet potato and ice cream dessert, which was warm and satisfying, but again — very chunky. Like everything else here, not the most refined plating, but the taste made up for it.

Overall, it was a great first sushi experience in Vegas — and coming from someone used to Hawaii’s seafood, that’s saying a lot. I’d definitely come back.

This Japanese restaurant in Las Vegas is super popular on Xiaohongshu, but it has zero decor and uncomfortable hard benches. The sashimi is fresh, but overpriced, and the sushi is downright terrible—just plain rice with raw fish, completely flavorless. The aburi sushi is barely torched with no sauce, totally bland. Even the grilled fish collar is under-seasoned, just drizzled with a bit of soy sauce. Honestly, this was the only disappointing spot I visited in Vegas. Would not recommend at all . Too noise to enjoy our dinner.

Um, wow! Stumbled upon this place unexpectedly and the fish quality was incredible. They’re known for their tuna and it’s the best fresh tuna I’ve ever had. Highly recommend. There was no wait and the staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. Also looked like they had an impressive array of Japanese whiskey and sake, though we didn’t try them this time around. Next time!

Shigotonin is hands down, the best sushi spot I’ve been, EVER! The cuts of fish here are HUGE and extremely fresh. I get the uni + toro bowl and it blows my mind every time. The toro melts in your mouth. The owner is very welcoming and taught me how to eat and dip the bites in soy sauce as they do in Japan. I come here for special occasions as it is more premium priced for me at the moment, but definitely worth it to take your friends here to celebrate. I also loved the uni pasta! Definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for top notch quality fish and don’t forget a bottle of sake!

We had a great experience at the restaurant! Our server, Bayu, was friendly and super helpful—he introduced us to the menu using pictures, which made it so much easier to understand the different fish. The sashimi was fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious.

Absolutely love this place, and hope the economy affords more people to come here in the future. The value is 100% in their quality of ingredients. Order any one of their boxes of imported Tuna and you’ll never order it from anywhere else again. Then, pay the extra for their uni pasta with ikura. In terms of pasta, there’s nothing quite like it in terms of creaminess and marriage of ocean and dairy.

The staff is always timely and courteous. The seating is personal and allows for privacy. Give this place a try, I doubt you’ll find something you dislike there!

Exceptional food and service. Best and most authentic Japanese cuisine I’ve ever had in US. The freshness of their ingredients is absolutely impeccable – totally worth it! And the owner is so passionate that he spent time introducing and showing us the pics of every single special for the day. Wish I could give 6 stars. Strongly recommend!!!

Absolutely loved this place! Went on MLK weekend and there was plenty of seating (did make a reservation in advance just in case). I’ve been to many omakase places and this takes the cake over them. The ambience was lovely with Studio Ghibili songs playing in the background and wonderful service from all levels of the staff. The chef stopped by to check in on us and give tips on how to best enjoy each box. The waitress also gave what turned out to be a great sake recommendation after asking the types/profiles of sake I’ve liked previously. We thoroughly enjoyed the uni ikura pasta and several of the boxes (salmon, chutoro, and otoro). My personal favorite was the otoro sakura box. Very high quality and filling. I’m a big fan of nodoguro, so I ordered one as a temaki. That was decent, but not worth the price. Otherwise, everything else seemed pretty fair. Definitely ruined other sushi experiences for me for a while, and I can’t wait to come back.
