My wife and I had a great experience with Rock Harbor Grill. The service was great..the waitress was on top of it, although they were busy. She was also super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. We had the soup sampler to start and we were blown away with how delicious the soups were. For dinner, we had the kung Pao calamari and the mahi mahi. Both delicious! The key lime pie was spot on!

We were not sure about this place because there are some mixed reviews. However, I am so so glad we took a chance. By far the best steak I have had in years. The service was outstanding and every bite of food was cooked to perfection! Hands down the best restaurant we have been to in NC since we moved here 8 years ago. Can’t wait to go back!

Nice place with live music (Wed to Sun), good beer and good service. The food was not perfect but that might have been a one time thing (fish dry and way too much lemon). We will be back and try again.
2nd visit:
Minus one star. Please do not use cheap cleaning products. We do not like to smell mainly chlorine all evening. The curry noodles were simple and had a weak flavor. Asked to make them without mushrooms but got them anyway. The lobster needed a few more minutes in the pot but tasted good. Seems to be too expensive for what you get. Well, we’re still not sure about the final rating… so third time is a…

The food was not good again and I don’t even want to comment on it. We really wanted to like this place but sorry, that’s not how you should run a restaurant. The poor servers try their best, but it seems they are just too busy with all the work. This time our appetizers were forgotten and of course we had the usual fingerprints on our plates. We came around 8pm and many items on the menu were not available anymore.

All of the food is amazing. The lavender vinaigrette on the spinach salad is absolutely fabulous. Very clean, and excellent service. This will definitely be one of our go to places from now on. Live music on the weekends. Reservations are needed then, because it gets very busy.

Review long overdue. Have been there a few times and every time the food, drinks and service have been great. Great place for seafood dishes, and I hope the fried chicken with pecan sauce is always on the menu as it’s a fantastic option if your not in the mood for seafood. Great specials, but so many great experiences with regular menu that it’s always a tough choice between regular menu or trying a special. Recent special of fish and chips rocked!

Best burger ever! Period. Much better stuff on the menu than burgers and I can’t wait to try it all. But I just had the best burger of my life. No. Joke. Also the rock music on this night was so good that a liquor bottle actually fell of the shelf. Ha! Good music. GREAT FOOD. Sat at the bar and the service was amazing.

I really love this place… the food is off the charts amazing and moderately priced. I’m a super picky eater, and this place is one of my favorites. Plus live music quite often with a variety of styles. Outdoor seating during warm weather watching live music is fantastic. Highly recommend!

I’m surprised how many good reviews this place has gotten. I guess it’s because Fuquay Varina doesn’t have much variety in restaurants. We’ve been a couple of times and so far we have not been pleased. The last time we were encouraged to take advantage of a half price wine which ended up being $26 dollars. That’s half price? My wife’s grouper looked terrible. It was supposed to be a salsa topping but it looked like slop. Not appetizing at all. So I will have to say I won’t be back unless I’m going with a group. I would not recommend this place

The barbecued duck on rice noddles was great. The wine was a good choice, also not very happy with the fish. I believe she had (grouper) it was tasteless and chewy the service was not that great either. Our server seemed like he might have been on speed or some type of inhibitor, he was very disoriented and he might just been new, but overall the atmosphere of the place is great. The live band was great. The majority of the food was very good, the other customers were kind of yuppies and they were very uptight, antisocial first class, so this is definitely a place for people that are liberal minded. As an out of towner, I felt very much more welcome at the Mason jar.

Shrimp and grits were horrible. After a couple bites, couldn’t eat it. Others at my table tried it and agreed it was not good. I informed the waitress and she said they would only take off 1/2 of it off our bill even though our table ordered appetizers, drinks and entrees. We spent over $400 and they would not take the whole horrible meal off. I will not be back.
