I tried ordering some sandwiches to keep it simple, but they turned out to be a soggy mess. Part of it was my fault; I misread the directions as saying that you were supposed to cook them from frozen, but you actually have to thaw them first. Still, I don’t think there’s a good way to thaw frozen sandwiches.

So here’s my take. First, the cost of a few sandwiches was so high that I should’ve just gone to Jimmy Johns. Second, the food wasn’t fresh: the sandwiches arrived pre-assembled but frozen. Third, it didn’t even save me any time: thawing the sandwiches was a time-consuming nightmare (see below).

After trying to thaw the sandwiches using the cooking directions (again, my fault) it didn’t work. There were still chunks of ice between the slices of meat while the bread was crunchy and the cheese melted. To get the sandwiches to be edible, I had to take them apart and heat the insides separately through trial and error. Even after they were suitably thawed, since they came with mustard pre-applied, the thawed sandwiches were just a soggy, unappetizing mess. My kids would hardly touch them. I ate them, and felt sick in my stomach afterwards.

Maybe some of the other items are better. However, the high prices and the frozenness of the food are a turn-off for me. If you’re trying for the first time, be sure to order something that thaws well.

Been coming here for years. Saves my sanity to be able to make meals here for my family. Owners are always smiling, offering samples. I’d be lost without Time for Dinner!

They are simply the best! I always call the day before and place my pick up order. It is a life saver for a working mom. I buy 12 half dishes and use 2-3 during the week to help me still provide healthy meals for my family while saving me time and stress. They are a life saver! I’m so grateful for Time For Dinner! Thank you!

I’m a single mom of two teenaged sons, living in West Co, but my business is on the IL side. Time is super limited for me. Unfortunately, we’ve been going out to eat A LOT. My kids finally told me a couple of weeks ago that they are tired of restaurant food. I don’t recall how I learned about Time for Dinner in Brentwood. I went to my first session yesterday morning to prepare meals and came home with about two weeks worth of meals for my family. We ate one of them last night for dinner only needing to add a side veggie (which they have available to purchase) and cooking some pasta. It was a hit! I will be going back. I will be saving money over going out all the time and the cost is equivalent to grocery shopping. The list of benefits is endless… Including stress free meal planning, they clean up after your prep, clean up at home is minimal, I felt so accomplished today… Time for Dinner also has incentives like Bring a Newbie and you both receive a free entree, save more money when you purchase a certain amount (the meals freeze really well!), Then receive a 20% off through the loyalty program… Again another endless list.

Bottom line… I recommend them because of convenience, tastiness and money saving. It would be a wonderful way to also socialize! I’m thinking about going back regularly.
