I haven’t been here in almost 10 years and let me say, that’s changing immediately. The inside has doubled in size since I was last there and there is now a decent amount of tables to eat. I tried their pork roll egg and cheese sub and it was fantastic. Everybody at the store was super nice and friendly, it made for a great experience.

We ordered a special Italian hoagie on Super Bowl Sunday. This may be the best hoagie we have ever had. The roll was very good with plenty of meat in it. We now know why people were coming and going to pick-up orders. Very good!

Had the cheesesteak with extra meat, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, onions. Agree with the other reviewer that some seasoning on the meat would help but it was still tasty. Fries were delicious. My wife’s Meatball Parm sub was REALLY good. Going with that next time!

I ordered 1 whole Italian sub, a half of chicken cheese steak a chicken fingers with fries combo and an extra order of fries and a 2 liter Pepsi and was charged $60. I got a receipt with the just the price. Unless the online menu prices are outdated on the website, I got overcharged pretty good. Although the food was great, I can’t pay that much anymore. It was my 1st time there. I purchased the same food at Vicks and never paid close to that much. Don’t get me wrong, the food was excellent, but I now have reservations about going back there again.

My expectations were set way too high for this place. I remember when this place first opened, the t-shirts they made were very controversial to some. The shirt said “you wouldn’t let Michael Jackson watch your kids, why would you let a pizza place make your sub?”. Everyone told me to get the meatball sub, so I did. I think I pinched a nerve shrugging at the mediocrity of the sub. I heard such praise but was disappointed. Meatballs were big, sauce was good but was dumped on top, nearly impossible to eat without looking like Carrie in the gymnasium scene. Soggy soggy soggy. There’s no chance of eating this without it turning to mush. Meatballs had no flavor and were grey. Was it a chicken meatball? Was this an off day? I could see people loving it but I’d rather have quality over quantity, big isn’t always better. For me it was a Mic Dundee, better than average with a 6.5.

Should’ve looked at the recent reviews and photos before coming here. Decided to order from this place based off of the last time few times we ordered over the last 5 years. The first time we ordered a whole italian hoagie not knowing the size of it- it tasted great. It was delicious. The next times we tried a cheesesteak, their chicken cheesesteak, but still mainly stuck to the italian hoagie.

We recently tried the cheesesteak again and it was disgusting. The meat was not seasoned at all, the roll they used was dried out and was like eating paper- no flavor. The quality was nothing like the last few times, there was barely any meat or cheese in the roll. Completely disappointing. No clue if they changed cooks or if this is how they’re told to cook, but it tracks with recent reviews.

Also, not sure how half a cheesesteak and a small bag of chips was $17 (even with tax and a credit card fee added). Either we were up charged like one of the recent reviews or the prices on their site are outdated. In which case, they should update them because they don’t give an itemized receipt. Never again.

Been living at the Jersey Shore for over 25 years after growing up in Philadelphia. By far, with no comparison, Pete’s is the best. Fresh like they just killed the cow out back. The taste jumps off the plate. Never had a bad one.. Excellent price for the quality of their sub. The are as thick as a phone book, for those of us who remember. They don’t skimp on anything. Pictures are half a tuna and whole Italian special.

Got a Steak and Cheese there. Was asked when ordering if I wanted a “half or a whole”. Unknowingly, I ordered a whole thinking in terms of Subway and other popular chain sub shops.

A “whole” sub at Pete’s is twice as much as other chain sub shops – a full 24″ sub that has meat piled on. It took me 3 suppers to finish it off.

Well worth the visit and I’d be back if even remotely close to their location.

Disappointed that I was told where to put my plate.. which was at the front counter .. after I bagged half to go.. when I was all set to tip her. Why couldn’t she just take it. Food was good.. i will try it again.. I will give the restaurant a 5 star

I ordered 2 subs (BLT and Philly cheesesteak). I was pretty happy with the size of my BLT but disappointed that it looked like they used old bacon. The taste wasn’t bad but fresh bacon would have elevated it.

The Philly sub was just alright. I had to cut off pieces of the sandwich because wax paper was stuck to it. I personally wouldn’t order a Philly from there again but maybe if it’s customized it’ll be better.
