I was excited to try out the newest food in town and Kita’s did not disappoint! The menu has a great selection but small enough that you know you’ll get guaranteed expertise and quality. The staff were very welcoming and you can tell they are passionate about working there and bring the heart to the business.
The food definitely brings the soul that they proudly boast. The catfish is bursting with flavor with a crisp exterior and is fried perfectly with a delicate interior. The staff was kind enough to give me a sample of The BIG Daddy sub, that gives you the punch and zest you expect out of an italian sub with generous amount of meat. I also received a sample of their peach cobbler that is a great treat for anybody with a sweet tooth. The cinnamin gives it just the right amount kick! Lastly I had a side of gumbo that was surprisingly mild in spice, but definitely made up for it in flavor.
Overall I’m very excited the beginning for Kita’s Kitchen’s journey in Clawson! The staff are so friendly and the food is going to be something I’ll be craving consistently. Their dinner portions are generous and their lunch price is very affordable. If you have a taste for southern cuisine or want to try something new, Kita’s is a must try!

When I talk about real soul food this is what I mean. The food was fresh flavorful and the portions were large. Especially with the pork chops. Hubby had mother pork chops green and Mac n cheese. They had two types of greens which really surprised me. I had whole wings Mac n cheese and red beans and rice. They both came with cornbread which was also amazing. They had this punch they make and I was so mad I didn’t get a larger size and had to share with hubby it was really good and reminded me of the punch my grandma used to make when I was a kid. Can’t wait to go back we will absolutely be regulars.

My husband and I have been waiting for this place to open ever since we saw the signs go up, and let me tell you it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely amazing. The smothered pork chops tasted like they came straight out of my grandma’s skillet fresh, flavorful, and made with love!

I had the wings lunch special. Everything was excellent and cooked just right! The flavor of the chicken, green beans and cornbread was great!! I also tasted my husband’s turnip/mustard greens and they were delicious!! The staff is also very welcoming! We will most definitely be regulars!!

The baked chicken had great flavor and was incredibly tender and moist.
All of our sides, including the collard greens, mac and cheese, potato salad, candied yams, and dressing were all amazing.
The portions are a good size and you could easily share a dinner between 2 people.
They even hooked us up with some extras for no additional charge.
Highly recommend and we will be back!

This was our first visit 3/8/26. I ordered the Fried Chicken, Ribs, Dressing, Mac-n-Cheese, Greens, Black eyed peas and the red beans and rice and Yams. The food was really good. It was seasoned well. I rate it 4 stars because of the high prices and the portions were small. The staff was very friendly.

I recently visited Kita’s Kitchen and ordered the Big Daddy Sub. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful in guiding me through the menu. My overall experience was nothing short of amazing—the sandwich was absolutely top tier. I highly recommend Kita’s Kitchen to anyone looking for a great sandwich or some delicious Southern-style soul food. 10/10—I’ll definitely be back!
