At Golden Roast, our heart and soul lie in every roast. Our head chef brings over 40 years of experience in the traditional Hong Kong-style BBQ craft — a legacy of flavor passed down through decades. His signature roast duck is a local favorite: crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside, with that perfect balance of savory depth and aromatic spice. We roast fresh daily in-house, using time-honored techniques and premium ingredients. Whether you’re here for the duck, roast pork, soy sauce chicken or char siu (BBQ pork), one bite and you’ll taste the difference tradition makes.

Highly recommend. I ordered the 2 protein choice option. I asked for the roast duck and roast chicken. Both were so delicious and well marinated and very well roasted. They gave you ample on both and the rice given was laced with the good gravy from both meat. The veggies that came with the meal were even well cooked and well seasoned. I can honestly say that the price was worth it too. I will be back and would recommend.

It’s very delicious! Roast duck and BBQ pork are authentic. The crispy chicken has a unique, savory undertone that adds a rich depth to each bite. Juicy on the inside and perfectly seasoned. The sides are also really good, the pickle is hidden gem. Highly recommended!

I was in golden roast today ordered a 2 item combo. The pork belly was so tough to chew just like rubber. And the roast duck was dry and taste bad with lots hair on the skin. By the way both items were done cold. I complained to the manager ask for solutions or money back. He said to me if don’t like it don’t come to eat here no money back. I throw away all my food and left still hungry. He never offered me anything else or apologized. He probably thinks I’m a trouble maker. But I’m not a trouble maker. Just trying to get some decent food for my stomach. I have good intentions to tell them about my experiences. But they ignored me. It’s their loss. I wouldn’t come back again for sure.

More of a 3.5 as it is now. Pricey for what you get, but then again, all places in Haven City Market is a bit upcharged due to the food hall.

Golden Roast is located right in-between Haven City and GW market. Staff is friendly and helpful and the stall looks clean.

Food Review is only for the A La carte options we tried. I do want to try the plates next time.

We ordered the Large Chat Siu ($16.99) and Large roast pork brisket ($18.99). I’m used to other places charging a la carte meats by weight, but it’s not the case here where you only have Large and small options. You also don’t really get to pick which piece you would like some other places. Aside from not knowing how much meat you’re getting for the price you also don’t know what kind of pieces you’ll be getting.

I will say for both meats, they were very lean, very little fat. If you’re trying to eat leaner, this place has good lean meats. Me personally when I eat char siu or the roasted pork, I need just a bit of fat in it to add the juiciness and fatty flavor. The roast pork brisket tended was lean, but I wish it was a bit crispier. Tender and Good flavor though.

The char siu itself was marinated well, but I wish they would give more char siu sauce on side or drizzle over the meat after it was cut. It made it overall too dry

Overall unit a bad place to eat. Good lean meats, but tended to be too dry for my liking. I would go back again for plates to get the warm rice and veggies.

The roast duck? Absolute masterpiece. The skin is so crispy it practically sings when you bite into it. Juicy, rich, and perfectly seasoned—like it flew straight in from Hong Kong first class. ✈️
And don’t sleep on the char siu and roast chicken—both are legit delicious.
If you love Cantonese BBQ, this place isn’t just a hidden gem—it’s a golden one.

Really tasty! The skin was crispy, the meat was soft and juicy. Full of flavor, not too salty. I ate it by itself and it was great. Would definitely eat again.

If you’re on the hunt for top-tier Chinese BBQ in Los Angeles, this place is a gem you don’t want to miss. It’s one of the few spots in the city that serves authentic roast goose—and they do it perfectly. The skin is beautifully crisp, almost glassy, while the meat underneath is incredibly juicy and rich with flavor. It’s the kind of dish that stops you mid-bite.

Their roast duck, crispy pork, and char siu (BBQ pork) are also standouts. Each cut strikes that ideal fat-to-meat balance, giving you indulgent flavor without the greasiness you might expect. The char siu in particular is tender and caramelized just right, with that slightly smoky sweetness that hits all the right notes.

Whether you’re a longtime fan of Cantonese BBQ or just curious to try something new, this place delivers authentic flavors with expert execution. Come hungry—and maybe bring a friend, because you’ll want to try everything.

Attracted by the pricing. Ordered a soy chicken togo for the wife. Got home looked good but upon eating found long chicken hairs on the skin and few moments later there was a bug of some kind embedded in the broccoli .
