First time to spitfire, possibly the last time. Arriving before five o’clock, we waited almost a half an hour. Then you have to order before you sit down and also pay first. After we sat down, we waited another half an hour before two pizzas came out. Nobody comes to you table except to bring the food. That’s it. You go and get your own water and your own drinks.
Ok, the pizzas are tasty, but not worth the wait with three little girls starving. This is not, i repeat, not a family oriented restaurant.
I think people already are realizing that fact, so their order and pick up is their main business. This is a noisy place for young people and older folks with lots of patients.

Some pitfalls for pitfire. I always hope a small business does well, and my hope for Pitfire is that they take some feedback. Perhaps at a slower time, the food and service would be better. However, we were really sad about our food. We placed a pick up order at 4pm for a 6pm pick up. When I arrived, a man was talking about being sat there for more than an hour waiting for his food. He was berated by staff, then yelled at “you got your pizza… GET OUT”. Another woman with a small child said she was leaving because she was waiting 30 min for a order she placed at noon for a 5:30pick up and it was now 6:15. She left without food.
My experience was similar. I waited for 20 min and when asked how longI would need to wait, I was told “I have no idea”. Another person came in after and the staff said “oh! Yours is actually ready” in a shocked way when she gave her name.
I was willing to overlook this if the food was good… but when all said and done it was cold, tasteless, and lackluster. The salads were just a whole head of romaine in a container with a side of dressing and a lemon wedge. The soup came with a sad piece of toast. Considering in taxes, tip, and “living fees” I added $20 to my order price, the fairly affordable listings start to seem over priced when you finally get your food.
I hope they can turn it around. It looks cute, good location, and again a decent price before fees but overall not worth the time or money.
I will likely not return with the customer service being the main complaint.

EDIT TO ADD: Their manager Sarah was extremely kind and professional. She offered to make it right and the team is aware of the situation. Excited to try again under better circumstances.

The pizza was really good but I didn’t like the bread it was so thick and hard to chew. The salad dressing was great too.

HANDS DOWN the BEST PIZZA in San Diego! Especially if you cannot have dairy or are vegan like me. Its impossible to find a non dairy pizza worthy of tasting like a “real” pizza and Pitfire has absolutely nailed it! I don’t normally leave reviews but I truly was impressed with them tonight. Its Valentines day. They were backed up and behind. I had to wait far longer than normal and instead of just handing me my food, they not only gave me my order, but added on a whole pizza AND $50 gift card as a kind gesture for the time I had to wait. I was truly touched. I have ordered from Pitfire and eaten there countless times and each and every time they have the BEST service, food and atmosphere hands down. I am a true fan! Thank you all for everything!

Update: Cody personally followed up with me. He was very kind, attentive, and thorough in making things right. I really appreciate the effort he put into resolving the situation. We will give another shot in the upcoming weeks.

First time dining here. With around 10 customers in the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon, we were served cold pizzas and cold pasta. The staff was rude when I said “the pizzas were sitting over there for more than 5 minutes”. He asked “do you want me to refire them” with an attitude and I said “no” since I didn’t want to waste food and also didn’t know how the refired ones were going to come out. I’m giving 3 stars for the kitchen staff. Very disappointing experience.

Ordered Zoe’s Pepperoni. The pizza impressed me with its fresh ingredients and reasonable size for the price. It brought back memories of my favorite hometown pizza, and I’m already planning to return next time I’m in the area.

We stopped by this place on the drive back home and I’m glad we did. It was my first time eating with this particular franchise. The pizza we got was exceptional. The ingredients tasted fresh and had a lot of flavor. I definitely recommend giving this place try.

Nice pizza overall. I recommend you try it once. The toppings are fresh, and the location is welcoming. Friendly staff. Most pizza’s are around 20 bucks, which is a good deal for the size you get. My only personal critique is that the dough, while delicious in flavor, is quite dense and filling, with a small crumb. It’s also soft and squishy, when I prefer crunchy. But hey, most people don’t eat the crust anyway, so have at it!!

Friendly staff, quick service and amazing pizza. The caeser salad was really good too. We got the Pineapple Express pizza and it was fantastic. Can’t wait to try the other options soon. Management has done a great job to shore up the complaints from recent negative reviews, apparently. We will definitely be back soon.

I had an awesome time here. Everyone is super nice and the food is so good. I got the Brussels sprouts and the honey bear pizza. I’ll definitely be back to try the other stuff on the menu. Thank you!
