What a reasonable breakfast lunch spot! Diner atmosphere in a quaint neighborhood. Many menu items for the whole family and the specials were unique and tasty. The specials we ordered were enough to share. the only downside was the service. I understand they are busy in the early morning due to being located by the ferry and it’s a get together for locals. We walked in on Monday around 10a with only a few patrons eating and were greeted immediately by the wait staff. But after that it took a while to order coffee. We ordered our food which came out in a timely matter. After the food was brought our waitress disappeared and I had to walk into the dining area to ask for a refill and to go container. Plus I requested check due to the waitress sitting at a table conversing with a diner. I don’t want to sound snobby but there was maybe 4-5 people dining at this time.

I travel a lot for work and small diners like this is what I seek out. If you like cozy places where you will find blue collar workers and 50 year married couples having their weekly breakfast date this is your places. It’s a locals kinda spot.

Tried a breakfast plate at Little Village Cafe for the first time. Went with the cacolia eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce over an English muffin with home fries. Thought it was pretty good. Cup of coffee was good as well. Service was good.

This is $18.75 worth, no hash browns after being asked if I wanted them. 2 sandwiches is $18.75 , .75 cents per piece of bacon bagel not even toasted LOL
When I called to check if we were charged for hash browns was told they “usually come with” then why ask, I was clearly charged for them!

A little place in fairhaven, service was good, food took a bit to get out but was good, the potatoes/ hash browns were favored so darn good! Great breakfast spot for the area.

Had a great breakfast here before so we took my visiting cousin here for lunch yesterday. We sat in the back room to catch up. The waitress came to the table, a sad sack, almost seemed angry. I ordered a sandwich and a cup of chowder, not a combo. She brought all the food together and I said I would skip the soup. I got a look and “you didn’t say you wanted the soup first” – was I supposed to? She didn’t ask either. I could go on but I’ve made my point. Very disappointed in the food as well. Not a good experience.

This little cafe location figures prominently in the history of the now global Seventh-day Adventist Church. Fairhaven pioneer Captain Joseph Bates, created as co-founder of the Adventist Church, lived up the street. A wealth successful businessman he spent his fortune on telling the world of Jesus soon return.
One day his wife asked him to pick up 4 lbs of flour which he did with his last money on hand. She objected asking why he had not bought a 20 lb barrel! When he explained he was out of cash she broke down crying. Bates told her God would supply all their needs.
Bates was impressed to go to this building, then the town post office, where he found a letter waiting for him. It was postage due, but Bates did not want to go into debt so he could not take the letter. He was however impressed the envelope contained money so he asked the postmaster to open it and check. Inside was $10! Bates went back to the store and ordered a lot of food for delivery to his house but instructed the driver not to tell his wife where it came from. He took the rest of the money to the printer to place on deposit for printing a book he was writing on the Sabbath truth.
Later a friend happened upon a former employer on the road who was impressed to pay $100 he had cheated from the man. The friend took the $100 of found money to Bates’s printer and paid for the rest of the print order. Bates never knew were that cash came from.
