The Blue Moon is located right on the water in beautiful Boothbay Harbor and serves delicious breakfast and lunch items 5 days a week.
Start your day on our sunny deck overlooking the harbor with our Cinnamon Pecan Crusted French Toast or perhaps Homemade Corned Beef Hash and one of Fred’s Most Excellent Bloodies or a mimosa.
This cozy dockside cafe offers a scenic patio & an ample daytime menu of American comfort fare.

We visited this cafe over the weekend after seeing recommendations on social media. Arrived around 930am and waited in a long line to order- took about 45 minutes from getting in line to being served. Our group ordered varying degrees of meals from a breakfast sandwich to the lobster Benedict. The lobster Benedict (arrived as pictured) was not worth $32- we actually laughed at the portion when it arrived given the small amount of lobster and the 8 home fries. Home fries were a mix of regular and sweet potatoes which I personally did not love. The water front views are nice if you can get a table- otherwise, you’re better off getting your meal to go as the back patio is swarmed with bees. Part of our group got up to go sit on a bench to try to get away from them and the server noticed and said “oh ya, it’s bad back there”. Obviously, to a degree this is something difficult to control but it was pretty bad so would benefit from some type of mitigation. No one in our group left particularly impressed with the food or experience. I would not recommend this cafe for a sit down breakfast experience- could probably meet your needs for quick service items.
Maybe this was an off day having just come off the busy season but overall I would not rush back.

I had a decent breakfast at the Blue Moon Café in Boothbay Harbor. The breakfast burrito I ordered was delicious, but my wife’s Shaggy Moon (English muffin, ham, egg, cheese) was a little bland. We stopped in for breakfast before a Cap’n Gish’s whale watching tour.

The food here is very good, the blueberry pie I was outstanding. The blueberry pancakes were too. The view is magnificent and it would have been a nice way to spend the whole morning if we had had time just sitting on the porch under the awnings looking at the boats taking off for the islands. A little pricey but given the season and location it’s quite reasonable. Not crazy about the service, but they didn’t rush us, so that was okay. And anywhere that gives away free mini cinnamon rolls that are freshly made, is a good place to visit as long as you don’t have diabetes.

Recently visited Boothbay and the lobster Benedict is going to stay with me a long time. Lobster was great, of course, but the eggs were also perfectly poached and the hollandaise decadent. Staff was friendly, chatting with everyone who ordered, and the location can’t be beat. I like my bacon a touch crispier, but that’s a personal thing. Will definitely be back next time I’m there.

We were told we had to go here for breakfast. You order your food at the counter and seat yourself. I had the lobster Benedict, a bloody Mary, and a cup of coffee. The Benedict came with breakfast potatoes, which I just have to call them what they were, and that’s pathetic. The few diced pieces that came on the plate were cold, undercooked, and tasteless. As for the lobster Benedict itself, it was okay I guess. The Hollandaise sauce was on the bland side. I was impressed by it all.

Cozy little place but so so good and you can’t beat that view … tip .. have someone in your party grab a seat while the other orders as there’s not a lot of seating .. they’ll bring your meal to you once you’ve ordered at the counter . Breakfast was delicious.. I’d go again in a heartbeat! And the woman taking the order incredibly friendly:)

Such a great experience at this cozy cafe. It was my first time in Boothbay and we were looking for a nice breakfast spot. Myself, my husband and 2 young sons.
The atmosphere was amazing. In a quaint little area with a seaside dock. Nothing better than good breakfast and a view.
The food was awesome. Good options on the menu and the presentation was great. Our food was very good and we were filled.
My family had the buttermilk pancakes while I had the banana and walnut pancakes. The pancakes were crispy on the edges just how I like em. I also opted for a mimosa. I had mine with pineapple juice. It was great.
The waiter and waitress were so attentive, kind and welcoming.
I had the pleasure of meeting Stephanie, one of the owners and she was a DOLL. So friendly and welcoming.
Overall a great experience and will return the next time we venture to Boothbay!
Thanks for a great breakfast

Stopped for breakfast. Cute setting, friendly staff.
My friends’ blueberry pancakes were delicious. I made the mistake of ordering the avocado toast; it seemed like the toast had been made an hour before serving with the avocado put on top of the toast at the same time since it was dark green, not bright green.

Looking for a simple but quaint waterfront location, with an outdoor deck, to enjoy a delicious, reasonably priced Breakfast or Lunch? This is it! We were immediately greeted with a smile by the owners, and a view of the made to order, extensive menu variety that will satisfy any palate. If you like seafood with a unique flair, I highly recommend the Haddock Reuben, made to perfection and a blend of flavors that truly compliment each other. For those with Gluten and Dairy allergies, no worries, you can enjoy a variety of options as well. A great lunch at reasonable price. Highly recommend a visit. Looking forward to try the breakfast next.
