Have been here a few times. My fave is the turmeric fish. I’m not big on the shrimp sauce with it tho but it comes on the side. Prawn dumplings always amazing here. Service friendly. Pho is great.def recommend

Unassuming spot for viet out in the suburbs – key highlight was the vermicelli salad (we had it with grilled pork – salad was fresh, sauce was well balanced and pork perfectly grilled and season) and beef bone pho – very delicious. Also had betal leave buns – very good – real sleeper!

Coconut curry chicken was a tad sweet, but might be personal preference.

I often come to 8 Monkeys in Carnegie with a friend — it’s one of our go-to spots! The food is always fresh and beautifully presented, and I love that the menu changes regularly so there’s always something new to try. The Vietnamese dishes are great — full of flavour and colour. The friendly service and relaxed atmosphere make it a great place to catch up and enjoy a really satisfying meal. Highly recommended! Plenty of seating inside

Nice restaurant in the heart of busy Carnegie. Parking is tricky, so if you’re meeting people, get there early to find a space.
They have quite a nice sized menu with a few unique items. Though I chose more basic things, I was quite impressed with the food. I had the Fried Chicken Bao’s and the Golden Fried Rice with Chicken. While that’s a little more unique, it was a little too much butter for my liking and was a tad oily.
The food is good; well presented and tasty. And whilst I found the service to be quite good and prompt overall, it lets a restaurant down when the staff come to the table with your order and just plonk it down in front of anyone at the table and don’t seem to care that they’re not giving it to the person that ordered.
With that said, I would try it here again. It’s reasonably priced and the food was good. Could get noisy on weekends, but during the week was the perfect time to come eat here for the first time.

Great Vietnamese spot in Carnegie with a fusion twist! The menu isn’t just pho—try the steak pasta, soft shell crab bao, and creative desserts. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious. I loved the hot stone pho ribs—it’s interactive and super flavorful. The drinks and smoothies are refreshing, especially the lychee and durian options. Perfect for any group size, quick service, and a fun dining experience. Definitely coming back!

Had dinner last night.
We enjoyed the all the foods we ordered.
We particularly liked the egg omlete with seafood and the fried barramundi.
The dessert with jelly, jack fruit, durian pulp, peanuts&sago was nice end to our dinner.
Service was ok despite the place was full.
Parking can be challenging particularly during dinner times.
Will return to try other dishes.

We have enjoyed this establishment’s Vietnamese cuisine several times previously but somehow, I have not previously sat down to write a VERY well-deserved positive review.
This time my wife and invited a friend and his wife for a “Surprise Dinner” to celebrate the occasion of his Birthday. We wanted to take them to a restaurant that we could rely on to be REALLY GOOD. They were both delighted.
We had not booked a table, so we arrived relatively early. We requested to be seated in the “back area” and were courteously shown to our table.
Our “Birthday Guests” were pleasantly astonished at the huge extent of the menu items.
For Starters we chose…
 Prawns & Chicken Spring Rolls
 Steamed Prawn Dumplings
For Mains we chose…
 Grilled Scotch Fillet with Egg & Fried Butter Rice
 Chicken Breast Pho
 Chilli Sauce Prawns & Jasmine Rice
 Prawn & Calamari Classic Pancake
For Dessert we chose…
 “Co-plue on Cose” – Creamy Coconut Ice Cream drizzled with Vietnamese brewed coffee, topped with shredded coconut & crushed peanuts!!!

Each dish was beautifully plated and included such wonderful combinations of Vietnamese flavours that perfectly blended together on our pallets. This was (yet again) a superb Vietnamese Dining experience. Our “Birthday Boy” was so appreciative and thankful of his “surprise” Birthday Dinner!!!

This time, after our meals I was motivated to go over to the kitchen and personal congratulate the Cheff (STEVE) and his talented Team for their exquisite Vietnamese Culinary Creations.

There are so many Vietnamese restaurants, but this establishment truly showcases the AMAZING combination of culinary delights that can be achieved via Vietnamese cuisine.

Highly recommended for an UPLIFTING Dining Experience.
We shall definitely return!!!

Had a great meal here last week. Pancake was nice and crispy. Herbs and salads were fresh. The hot stone beef ribs noodles came boiling hot and was very delicious and the beef, tender. The bun cha was also very flavourful. Service was pretty quick . Really enjoyed our meal.

Very modern and something different Vietnamese cuisine experience. The menu was very different from the one in the usual Vietnamese restaurants. The dish size was very generous and the price was reasonable. Noodle was so nice. The omelette we ordered was served with lots of herbs and vegetables. Amazing.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. Really wanna come back again. Parking was a bit hard as it is located on busy Koornang Rd.

I love this joint. My partner and I come here often. So yummy. Have tried lots off the menu, and never have been disappointed. I love that they have tables and chairs outside so we can bring our dog too. The oxtail dish is my favourite.
