Looking over some old pictures and realized that I never reviewed this gem. Went to La Food Marketa just to try the Taco Tower and it was phenomenal. They say it can feed up to 4 but it’s very possible to feed maybe 6 or 7 ppl easy. It’s so much good food and you get to build it with choices. Definitely give this place a try and get the Tower if you go with a larger group. I believe it was around $100 but completely worth it. Follow more reviews @IG: Robthefoodguy @eat_n_critique

La Food Marketa delivers beautifully crafted dishes with bold, creative flavors. Every plate felt thoughtful and well executed, and there’s truly something for everyone on the menu. A fun, vibrant spot with great energy and even better food — highly recommend!

I checked this restaurant out with a friend who liked it a lot. She’d been here a few times. We ordered quite a few things off the menu.

The Pan De Queso.
These are cute little cheese balls wrapped in dough. The bread portion is thin and it’s way more cheese than dough. Still very good!

The Calamari
Definately one of the better calamari I’ve ever had. Not rubbery at all. Coated and fried. It came with two different types of dips. The green dip was something I’ve never had before, couldn’t quite place what it was. Finely chopped scallion with other ingredients maybe. The other dip was good too. I enjoyed both with the calamari. It was also a good portion.

Crunchy chicken wings.
My friend got this dish. She enjoyed them. They came with dips. One she enjoyed and the other she didn’t like as much but the wings themselves she said were good.

Shrimp in coconut sauce
My friend ordered this dish. I didn’t try it though I regret that now. She enjoyed it and it looked delicious.

Crispy Fish Tacos
Decent tacos though not the best I’ve ever had. I think the fish could have used more seasoning instead of relying on the toppings to season the dish. They were pretty and though there were a lot of toppings the fish portion was still decent.

I also had a peach based cocktail who’s name I can no longer remember. The peach on top is soaked in alcohol (boubon? I can’t remember) and it had a peach based liquor as well as some other flavors. I had two. They were very good.

Overall a wonderful lunch. Great atmosphere and service.

This place is a hidden gem in Pikesville. The food is good, very krispy wings, nice tacos, nachos and fajitas. The drinks are awesome with their mixologist the Lovely Linh and her Gran Mango Marga. Great area, lake across the street, simply nice.

Our food was delicious and the service was friendly! Their outdoor seating area was perfect for the start of fall weather. They had awesome margaritas also!

UPDATE 5425 Party of two. Dined outside. Nice selection of Mexican dishes that they put their own twist on.

Our first time here. Party of 8 and we dined outside. Food and drinks were great as well as our waiter. Unfortunately they were out of the scallop tacos that two of us wanted to order. We’ll be back for sure.

The food and the decor was great. Biggest negative was the automatic door behind me constantly opening and closing during my meal letting in the hot summer air. I enjoyed the margaritas and their version of a Miami Vice. We will be back to try the regular menu…taco tower looks VERY enticing.

Definitely a MUST TRY. After doing some shopping , I decided to stop by and give the place a try . I got there right when the doors opened at 12pm . The place is large in the inside with plenty of sitting either at the bar or in dining area and very clean . I decided to sit at the bar . The bartender was real cool. The calamari is by far my favorite it was made to perfection . The tacos( turkey , fish and pulled pork ) were beyond fulfilling . The strawberry margarita was just an added bonus . Definitely would go back .

As I walked into La Food Marketa on an early Saturday afternoon, I was surprised by the relaxed atmosphere on the eve of Cinco de Mayo. Usually bustling with patrons, the restaurant was noticeably quieter this time, which provided a more intimate dining experience.

We started with their chips and salsa, which were delightful as usual. The chips were crisp, and the salsa was fresh, but it was the queso that truly stood out. Their queso was amazing—creamy, smooth, and packed with boastful, spicy flavor. It’s a must-try for any cheese lover.

For the appetizer, I had the Buffalo Chicken Taquitos. The dish featured four taquitos, each filled with delicious chicken infused with a balanced buffalo sauce. The dish’s tangy, vinegar-like undertones were not overpowering, a common pitfall of similar dishes. Instead, the flavor was vibrant, and the presentation was colorful. This starter, though filling, left me wanting more due to its delightful taste.

My friend opted for the Crispy Fish Tacos. Usually a reliable favorite, the tacos were a bit of a disappointment on this occasion. The fish tasted more like a processed fish stick rather than the usual crispy, flaky fried fish fillet. While the tacos were still edible, they lacked the zest that previously made them a hit. This deviation from the norm dampened an otherwise promising dish.

For my entrée, I chose the BBQ Chicken Quesadilla Tacos, which came with shoe-string fries. The tacos, served in soft tortillas, were generously filled and bursting with flavor. The fries, however, were overly seasoned, detracting from their appeal. Despite this, the main dish itself was excellent, and I would highly recommend it to any BBQ chicken fan.

One of the standout features of La Food Marketa is its staff. The music in the background created a pleasant ambiance, while the friendly servers added to the experience. Mike, a familiar face and a notable server, wasn’t attending to us this time, but his personable and accommodating nature has always made us feel valued. He consistently goes above and beyond for his customers, especially the regulars.

Overall, La Food Marketa remains a great place to visit, even if this particular evening had its ups and downs. The vibrant atmosphere, fantastic staff, and some stellar dishes make it a destination worth checking out.
