I’ve visited here many times the past year or two. When I first ate here, I really enjoyed their Steak Hibachi. The next few times, it slowly started going downhill. The steak quality now is at an all-time-low. Cutting corners maybe? Chewy, no flavor, doesn’t even taste like steak- almost like it’s fake. The veggie portions are slim in every dish. Fried rice is O-K, not outstanding by any means. The yum-yum sauce is not very good, doesn’t taste right and it’s different (still not good) every visit. Plus charging $1.00 per VERY small plastic cup? Absolutely ridiculous, so not worth it!
Tonight specifically, I got take-out. Chicken Teriyaki w/ white rice, California Roll, side salad and General Tsos Chicken w/ fried rice. My chicken teriyaki was absolutely terrible and tasteless. The sauce was super watery and did not have a deep orange/thick/sticky consistency – as it’s supposed to. The chicken was slightly pink inside and had no flavor. I had one piece of broccoli and a few carrots, ton of onions. My California roll was the best part of my meal, along with the side salad. The ginger dressing is great, fresh cucumbers were served on top and my sushi was a 7/10. General Tso was good, also a 7/10. Honestly, it seems every time we dine-in or get take-out, we regret it. It’s really sad because we used to love Masa’s food! I would much rather travel 35 mins to Chambersburg and eat at Aki. The quality of their food is TOP NOTCH.
The prices are reasonable for the trends of the current market. Yes I would prefer to not spend as much but when I take my wife out for sushi we always plan on spending more than most people so our $30-50 per person is a little inflated for most people. I would think most people would be $10-30 on average.
They feature a wide variety of sushi rolls, all of which are high quality and beautifully presented.
They also feature a decently sized dessert menu, including boba tea, mochi, and my personal favourite, fried ice cream.
Thank you to the MASA staff for allowing my family to host my graduation ceremony inside your restaurant, and I hope your business continues to flourish for years to come.
The food was perfect, the vibe was great and so was the service. Totally reasonable prices for the quality of the food and I cannot wait to get more of that crab rangoon! While we were there I saw sooo many to-go orders come through and I can 100% see why, it is really, really good y’all!!
Do not miss this amazing spot! Masa, as well as Nikki’s, both really upped Waynesboro’s eating out game when they came to town 🙂
