We came down from Vermont for WaterFire and were lucky enough to visit Mamacitas on their opening night! I called ahead and spoke with Liz, the owner, who was so kind—she was doing a tasting that evening but still went out of her way to reserve a table for our family, which made the night so much easier with our newborn.
The food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We’re vegetarian, and the kitchen was happy to make a few substitutions that turned out absolutely delicious. You can tell there’s a lot of heart behind this restaurant.
Wishing Liz and the Mamacitas team all the best as they launch this exciting new venture—we’ll definitely be back!

This is my second time here and I am obsessed with the food!! I recently tried the tacos dorados and they completely blew me away. The atmosphere is really nice, the location is perfect and the drinks are top notch. I plan on coming back again soon for a girls night.

We visited Providence for the waterfire celebration and had the blessing of finding Mamacita’s. It was their soft opening. Although everything was new, they were on top of everything. The owner, Liz was kind and helpful. The staff was amazing, very professional, friendly and attentive. We loved the food, we would highly recommend the tostadas. The location is amazing right on the water.

For context, I came here on the very first day they were open, and I bet a lot of the issues I encountered will be fixed as time goes on.
Starting with the positives, the food was amazing. It really had such great flavor, and left a lasting impression on me. I especially loved the view the outdoor seating offered of the river. This was especially amazing viewing water fire.
There is a bit of a lack of lighting outside. I think a candle could really do wonders. My main issue though was with the service. When I first arrived, I was told they sold out of everything except for the appetizers and desserts. Later, the manager came out and clarified that they actually were in stock. Then, I was told they ran out of chicken, but the manager again had to correct my server.
Overall a good restaurant, and I think with experience my server will have had it worked out, so I would recommend it!

Location, location, location. Mamacitas is a super cute waterfront restaurant right on the river in Providence. Since it’s protected from the wind, it is the perfect place to sit outside in the sun and get your fall wine fix and the wait staff is so attentive. We had just had lunch when we stumbled across it so we just had wine, but we’ll be back!

New restaurant with great atmosphere! We got to meet the owner while there. She’s amazing and she hired amazing staff too. Extremely attentive to your needs. I love it. Will be visiting them very soon again.

I just want to take the time to express that this restaurant is a must experience!!! The food was delightful, the drinks were immaculate and the atmosphere overall was unforgettable. Deffinitely go try it you will not be disappointed. Me and my BF will be coming back all the time.
