Reviews
The calamari was very interesting. I like how they added the breaded vegetables in. The breading itself had a nice flavor as well.
Caprese Salad had thick sturdy tomatoes today and flavorful balsamic. My husband and kids devoured the Caesar salad.
The tiramisu I think might be a little less sweet than what people might familiar with from another popular place, but I thought it was nicer. Also seemed more dense and moist but not soggy.
I had the Tuscan sausage entree. I appreciated the addition of some vegetables. There could be more. It was’t super spicy though. I think I would have liked the dish with more spice to it.
Husband approved of Chicken Parm and kids approved of Fettuccine Alfredo. Mom seemed to enjoy the Carbonara. Typically we would share entrees between one kid and one adult and there was plenty to do that. We opted for extra today so we could take home leftovers (and taste more things).
We arrived on time for our 7:30 reservation and were immediately told they were still trying to seat 7:00 reservations. The hostess was clearly overwhelmed, which should have been our first red flag. From there, the night only got worse. We spent two full hours in the restaurant…30 minutes before anyone acknowledged us at the table, another 30 minutes just to receive our appetizer, another 30 for mains and by the two-hour mark we gave up and asked for dessert to go.
The lack of communication was unacceptable. No updates, no apologies, and long stretches where our server was nowhere to be found. I’ve been a waitress and I know that is not right. To make matters worse, a table next to us left shortly after we were seated and was never bussed the entire time we were there. If the restaurant was struggling to seat guests, turning tables should have been a basic priority.
Despite the chaos, we were still charged full price for a preset Valentine’s menu with zero acknowledgment of the delays or the overall experience. Paying premium prices for this level of service is frustrating and unjustifiable.
If this restaurant cannot handle the volume and expectations that come with Valentine’s Day, they should seriously consider closing or drastically limiting reservations next year. At the very least, honest communication and basic service would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this experience ensured we won’t be returning.
Our server was attendant and always refilling water, ect.
The food is good, not the best Italian I’ve ever had but far from bland as some on these reviews have said. It’s a nice good meal. Portion sizes are good. More than enough for our party and I don’t understand reviews that complained they didn’t get enough food.
The Mussels Romano appetizer were served in a tomato-based sauce, which was new to me and very tasty. When we requested extra bread for this it was not a problem and we were not charged. We also had the Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio appetizer. Most in my party thought it was good, but I personally thought it bland.
We tried several things on the menu. No complaints. The Chicken piccata, the Chicken parm, and Chicken Caprese were all very good and well portioned.
The atmosphere is nice. The place is an old mill and it has a rustic feel to it. I would like to try it in the evening when the lighting is more interesting.
To conclude, positives: nice place, good food, great and pleasant server. Negative: Just 1, a bit pricey for lunch (but it was Sunday afternoon.)
He is an absolute master of perfection when it comes to the details of food preparation.
The kitchen and everyone else that we’ve met are fantastic people with great attention to details as well !
The restaurant is one of the prettiest restaurants you could go to . Pricing is very affordable considering the excellent quality and premium location!
Me and my wife eat at a restaurant every night and this is currently our favorite!
Thank you to the owners , Rick , Nick and the staff for being so hospitable!
Our server routinely vanished for long periods with no explanation. No updates, no check-ins, just silence. The experience felt less like dining out and more like waiting to be remembered.
The hostess was visibly stressed when we arrived, which at least matched the chaos of the night. However, when we were leaving, she appeared perfectly content and didn’t even acknowledge us. No thank-you, no apology, no recognition that the evening had gone poorly.
The food was good, but good food doesn’t excuse bad service and poor management. We paid full price after spending two hours feeling ignored and inconvenient. A simple apology, transparency about wait times, or any attempt at service recovery would have helped, but there was none.
Overall, this was a frustrating and poorly managed experience. We won’t be returning, and management needs to seriously improve communication and how they handle guests when things go wrong.
