This has been one on our list to try, so we decided to check it out during lunch. The food was delicious! The portion was good. To me it was worth it and the homemade kimchi was YUM! I normally go to clt for korean food, but now I will be going here for my korean food cravings. I will be returning soon. Hopefully one day they will add the black bean noodle to their menu. Check them out if you havent.

Very authentic, home-style Korean dishes! I enjoyed the Kimchi Jjigae (김치찌개) and the spicy squid (오징어볶음). Both had a deep, rich flavor and the portions were very generous. I’m so happy to find a Korean restaurant in the foothills that serves such high-quality food!

This place is a gem. Food came out hot. Customer service was top tier. Portions are awesome. FOOD IS AUTHENTIC. I’ve been to A LOT of Korean restaurants and this is up there.
Yes food is more pricey than most places but allow me to paint a picture… If the building looked more welcoming and location of this was in Ballantyne or uptown Charlotte, pricing wouldnt be an issue. Here’s the thing, it’s a small mom and pop owned restaurant. I bet the cashier is doing some of the cooking too. I have no problem paying for family owned ESPECIALLY if it comes with QUALITY.
I know the building is in a not so good part of town and it doesn’t look the most “upscale” but how do you think they’re supposed to get there? Gotta keep overhead costs low and continue serving amazing stuff. That’s what you get here. No complaints.
You may not have an enjoyable experience here “food wise” because Korean food might not sit with your palate but this is authentic. 9.5/10 experience. Would definitely come back.

First time in and had the 8 piece wings with spicy garlic sauce and the steamed pork dumplings. The homemade kimchi was incredible: I took a large tub of that home along with my leftover wings and dumplings. Best Korean food I’ve had since living in Seattle. Certainly the best I’ve had in Hickory. The owners and staff are the sweetest on another level! The food is great. I ended up taking two different to-go orders to two different people so they could try it as well. Coming back soon… Tomorrow, lunch?

This was my first time at Baek Kitchen and it definitely won’t be the last! The food was delicious. It came out steaming hot and was AMAZING!!!! The kimchi was homemade and so tasty. The portions were large and if I weren’t so full, I would have gotten more food. I highly recommend!!!!!

if you want the best Korean food, come to Baek Kitchen. I went here around 3PM yesterday and the food was the best i’ve ever had. The Bulgogi, Fried Squid, Kimchi, Grape Soda were amazing. The staff was very nice and made me feel welcomed and at home. If i could give this place 10 stars, i would.

I love this restaurant so much!!! Although there are few waiters, the food is brought out very quickly. The staff is extremely lovely!! And the food is delicious!! I am a lover of Korean food, and also Koreans!! Everyone should try this shop

We’ve driven past this place countless times, but never had time to go. Tonight we decided to have a little date night, and man what an amazing decision that was. The dishes are all obviously prepared with love. I got the Bibimbap and my fiance got Tebokki and Bolgogi. Everything was absolutely AMAZING. One of the ladies asked for me to try their homemade Kimchi, and as someone that doesn’t generally like Kimchi it was magnificent, I had to go back and ask for more. We will be coming back here A LOT.

If you are looking for authentic Korean food, look no further. The food was amazing!! The flavor was spot on and the portion sizes were generous. The only down side, I thought it was expensive, $18.99 for an entree putting our lunch at nearly $50. With that said, it was so good I’d argue it warrants the price. Our food was obviously made to order with fresh ingredients. I don’t live in hickory but I’ll drive out here the next time I’m craving Korean food. One other regret, I didn’t try the Korean corn dog – next time.
