I visited this place. The service was great. I mean the manager couldn’t do so much but the food was not edible. I got brisket and that’s not what I got. That’s what I ordered but it’s not what I got. I got shredded beef not brisket. I have had brisket in Hawaii before that taste like Texas food, but it wasn’t from this place and the manager was super nice but all he could tell me was it’s a certain cut of the meat. The certain cut of the meat means I didn’t get brisket. I got a different cut of meat. Period now if you want real brisket, the place that I last ate was a winner. Sunset Texas barbecue was a real winner. That’s where I’ll be going back to and no, I don’t work there. I’m just speaking truth. They have real brisket. Melt in your mouth delicious succulent brisket but this place Texas 808 barbecue not it sorry just not it. It’s a misrepresentation of brisket but if you want real brisket, please check out Texas sunset barbecue because my husband and I ate there and it was delicious. I mean real cream, corn real brisket that melts in your mouth. You actually want to go back there I crave the brisket that they serve And that’s just me being real. Seriously, Texas 808. Y’all need to take a lesson from Sunset Texas barbecue because they know how to make brisket. You should take the 808 out of your name. Because it’s a disgrace to Hawaii. The bbq beans were really good though, I have to say that, seeing as that was the only thing I could eat besides the Hawaiian Sweet Roll on the plate. Sorry guys please just fix the brisket

Brisket was good, but the potato salad didn’t have much flavor and the corn on the cob was dry and tough. Could have been an off day, so we may try again before making up our minds. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Walked in just expecting another side of the road bbq place but immediately as I walked in the hospitality and service was outstanding, so kind and welcoming. I also love testing the side of Mac n cheese whenever I get a chance. I find most places are bland and unoriginal… But here? Blew me away. So creamy and so tasty! The garlic butter chicken wings?? PERFECT crispy outside dripping in sauce with a fresh hot middle. Sad I was only here for a layover. You’ll live in my heart forever.

Quite frankly this was the worst beef brisket I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The sides were good, Mac’n’cheese and baked beans. On the upside, the staff were super friendly and professional. I was going to give this 1-star because a restaurant that has “Texas BBQ” in its name should have great brisket, but the staff were so great, I had to bump it up a bit.

Good spot for lunch. The staff here were very helpful and attentive.
I was in a healthier mood so I got the Chipotle salad which came with briskets. It was chopped up and it was good.
If you are craving some American BBQ you can get it here to crave your cravings. I would definitely like to try out some of their other meats next time.

I found out about this place from a co-worker, they suggested that it was really good and that it’s a very popular spot.
My other half even said that the lines are out the door… but, when we finally went today… it didn’t meet the expectations that I had in mind from what I was told.
But I will say, in terms of food and my love for things that are BBQ… this is a good second for me. Although I will say it was pretty dry and the pieces of brisket were pretty thick. My favorite I would have to say is the sausage, pulled pork, Corn on the cob, and the Mac and cheese.
My boyfriend and I got a little bit of everything just to try the food.
Oh! And the Nana pudding isn’t too bad, it’s definitely interesting.
So if you like BBQ, this is a good location to come to and they’re open at decent hours of the day.

I was really disappointed with my experience here, especially for a $50 meal. The ribs were so tough that you couldn’t even pull them apart with your hands, let alone enjoy eating them. The coleslaw was basically plain raw cabbage with no noticeable dressing or seasoning. The brisket was extremely dry, and the mac and cheese was pasty and lacked flavor. Overall, the quality did not match the price, and I wouldn’t return based on this visit.

I had the double meat for dinner. I chose brisket and ribs as the protein and slaw and steamed rice as my two sides. I also chose the spicy bbq sauce. The ribs were not my cup of tea. Don’t get me wrong, they’re good, but just not tender enough for my liking. The brisket on the other had was excellent. It was smokey and tender. I also tried the chicken wings. The wings sauce had a good kick to it.

Having been to the original Terry Black’s BBQ in TX, I had to give this place a shot. About 2 years ago, this place was good- good tasting/ moist meat, yummy desserts, and okay sides but it’s quickly gone down hill.
Today the meat was dry and bland, the mac & cheese was a solid lump and the banana pudding was grainy & watery.
Sandwich with 1 side (no drink) was $16 and the small banana pudding was $7.

Decent BBQ place located near the Navy exchange mall. Brisket was a tad dry but with sauce, it was on point. The Mac and cheese is second to none, some of the best I’ve ever had. Corn on the cob was good, and the kielbasa was awesome. Banana pudding is so good too. All in all, we’ll be going back. Price can be a bit steep but that’s typical for Oahu.
