Was getting my car tinted nearby and had time to kill so I tried Mandarin Kitchen. It was really good! Lunch special for $8 included a can of pop. I’ll go back next time I’m in Elkhart. Very good A+++

The food was reasonably priced, served quickly, and was nice and hot. The restaurant was clean. The woman who took our order was polite and served us with a smile! We split a large shrimp with lobster sauce, had 4 egg rolls and 2 cans of pop. It was delicious and filling.

Look I fully understand being busy especially on Christmas… but i order online I’m told 2 hours till ready… cool I’ll wait no problem I show up 2 hours and 14 mins after ordering they tell me it’s gonna be another hour I go home … I come back 1 hour and 39 mins later and I’m told 15 mins … I’ve now been sitting here for 1 hour and still nothing this is wild if I was told 4.5 hours to get my food the first time no issue but I’ve left and come back been told 3 different times and what do I get for it ????? 3RD UPDATE:
Woke up this morning not loving myself and feeling fat, feeling like I have nothing to wear and so on. LOL. You know how it is this time of year. Its chilly out, gaining winter weight like a squirrel an stuff. Anyway, food obviously cheers me up. And who cares if my rolls are a little more doughy right now. ♀️ Cause this cashew chicken combo sure made me feel better. I’m happy again.
2ND UPDATE: (LATE MARCH OF 2022)
After recently eating here, like three days in a row… lol… I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ve had a change of heart. The food quality was fresh each day and consistent. My review is now being bumped to five stars.

Since my first review, I’ve recently been back here twice. Food was good, and actually rather fresh this time. I was pleased with these last two visits so I’m now changing the one star to three stars, and uploading a photo of my most recent order.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
They gave me the wrong food… then kept transferring me to different people on the phone. They never resolved the issue. They literally didn’t care. They acted like they didn’t know what I was talking about… They eventually hung up the phone on me. Very disappointed.

This place was my go to for years. I left the city and came back for the holidays. I ordered some general tso chicken, fried rice, lo mein, and a shrimp egg roll. When I tell you the food was bland, i mean it was BLAND. There was little to no seasoning on the food. It tasted like hospital food. The chicken was buried under tons of flour. The sad part is with places having to either cut costs or raise prices I feel like if you’re gonna raise prices you need to keep that quality that got this place all the old 5 star reviews. Mandarin Kitchen, please fix your quality and make flavorful food because if you’re gonna keep making disappointing food, there are other cheaper Chinese restaurants to fill the gap.

Used to eat here a lot when I lived in Jimtown but moved in 2014 and I decided to eat there again since I remember it used to be great but the egg rolls were dry and tasteless I ordered house fried rice it had 4 total shrimp and very little else very disappointing all the way around. The prices have also gone up which is normal for a 10yr gap but $50 for 2 people is high for Chinese food. I won’t go back.

Super friendly staff able to accommodate a large party of 12 walking in. The portions are large and are cheaply priced (can definitely feed two people with one large entre) The chicken with garlic sauce was delicious, the veggies and chicken were perfectly cooked. The staff were so friendly! The restaurant had a small family business feel with Incredible food! Would highly recommend!
