Just moved to Woonsocket Al’s is right down the street. Thought why not, give it a try. Well let’s just say this place is a 10/10. 5 stars doesn’t do it justice. We go out for breakfast often, but the veggie omelette I had today. Was the best I have ever had. Huge plates!! Amazing customer service. Al and Angel are both great people. So friendly, so welcoming. Very clean restaurant that’s family owned. Bathroom is also very clean. This is definitely our new breakfast place! Highly recommended!

Awesome restaurant, delicious food and great portions. Al and everyone in there are funny and welcoming. If you order the pancakes be prepared to be full for the rest of the day. They challenged me and said I wouldn’t be able to finish them, and though I proved them wrong, i am pretty sure i just ate enough food for the next 3 days. Definitely recommend this place.

Curiosity, when it pays off, can lead to great surprises. Curiosity sent me to Al’s Place, and boy did my curiosity ever pay off.

It is a small, unassuming place. It is a little breakfast spot and not ashamed of it. Tidy and without the urge to ape a 1950s diner, it has a cozy vibe that reminds me of when I was growing up in the 80s and 90s without feeling inauthentic.

Long and short, it feels like coming home.

Greeted by Al, I sat on a stool at the counter and was offered coffee, which I gladly accepted. He served up a mug of Down East brand coffee (from what I could read on the carafe) and I was pleasantly surprised – I’m not big on coffee, but honestly? It was one of the best cups I’ve had. Dunkin can go hide in a corner as far as I’m concerned.

I was asked if I wanted a menu, but I did my research ahead and ordered the Heman Breakfast Special. Or maybe it was hungry man? It was certainly man related, and it was the two toast, two eggs, two bacon, two pancake, two sausage, and homefries meal.

He set about making it and I settled into the homey, familiar atmosphere. The early morning regulars (I assume regulars, given the familiarity with which they spoke) were friendly and Al was lively.

For the first time in a long time, I felt like part of a community in a restaurant. The last time I felt this at home and welcomed was probably when The Cakery was still open… anyways. Atmosphere gets high marks, as does customer service.

The food itself?

This was a good breakfast. It was everything I wanted and it was all well executed. I could find no complaint worth voicing. The pancakes were huge and fluffy, the bacon, eggs, and sausage were well prepared, and the home fries were well seasoned and pretty much perfect.

I don’t give out a lot of 5 star reviews, but Al’s Place gets one. It is not a fancy breakfast with inventive twists on things, nor is it gourmet and trendy – what it is, is a perfectly executed traditional American style breakfast at a completely reasonable price.

I think my quest is over – I think I have found the best breakfast – according to my tastes – in Woonsocket.

Note: Al’s Place is Cash Only. I called ahead to make sure since a lot of small, local breakfast places seem to be cash only. This was not a drawback for me, but it is worth noting if that might be an issue for you.

Great little local diner. Ton of food. You won’t have to eat till dinner. Coffee is good. Had eggs and corned beef hash (pretty sure it was canned). It was good though. Wife and son had omelets, said they were very good. Son had a 3egg and couldn’t finish it, and he’s 15 years old and an athlete. Definitely will go back if/and/or when we come back.

Came for breakfast. Wow so happy we did. This review wont be able to give Al’s enough justice. The pancakes where as big as the plate. I ordered the “he man” breakfast. Came with 2 bacon 2 sausage 2 toast 2 pancakes and 2 eggs and a huge pile of home fries for 9.99 . The quality of the food was amazing, the ammount was mind blowing. And the price is very reasonable for what you get and how great it is. My wife and I would suggest Al’s place to Any and everyone. We are definitely customers for life. And the wonderful women who took our order and served us while we where here was also just as amazing. Very friendly and kind. She also packaged our food for us when we finished. Thanks guys! Keep up the amazing work. We have a phone that’s 6.5 inches long and the pancake was about 1 and a half the size of my phone.. huugeeee.

Just a dad and his daughter hanging out all day and serving breakfast. Hanging out with Dad for a few minutes left me wanting to open my own place with my girls too. Very good food and very nice family. Give it a shot if you’re in the area.

This place is cozy… great prices! You get a lot of food for your dollar. The owner is very kind and funny super laid back place. Nice enough to accommodate to a seasoning allergy of mine and my dish still came out delish. Me and my husband got the He-Man which I will warn you is A LOT of food lol. So awesome for taking the rest home for brunch. The waitress was so sweet. We definitely will be coming back again.
