Albufera truffle sauce.” The foie gras was perfectly prepared, and came suspended over a stuffed potato that was excellent. I was surprised by how much food this was – very filling. Their sea food was outstanding also. The atmosphere is very romantic. If there are two of you, request to sit outside by the bay. Really a great restaurant and a very enjoyable time. Highly recommended.
The food was really delicious and well executed. Our particular set of orders focused too much on truffle-based dishes, leading to a bit of a monochromatic dinner. The dishes we had were very well executed, but we should have ordered more variety.
The Focaccia De Recco appetizer in particular was outstanding. Highly recommend this dish, and then recommend to follow with non-truffle dishes of greater variety.
Our service was pleasant. The server was a bit overworked at times, though she was very cheerful. The team worked together fairly well throughout the night.
Definitely would most highly recommend- We can’t wait to come back!!
We had a large party of 6 which then turned to 10 and they accommodated us.
We had the lamb(very good) steak (it was okay) carpaccio, burrata, green beans, raviolis. It was all pretty good. The lamb was favorite.
They had a dj and also a performer (singer) who was incredible. She sang right on tune songs like “dance with somebody” and some 80s.
The service was decent. Although I will say the server was in such a rush to clear the table (within 15 minutes of the food coming out) so they can get the tables cleared for people to order bottles and dance, that she literally grabbed my plate from me as I was cutting my food.
I was obviously pissed as she didn’t even ask if she could clear my plate and i was in the middle of eating. She apologized after I smacked her hand.
The party scene was there. Nothing crazy, I think the party was better at other restaurants.
One recommendation would be to not come here for dinner. Last year when we came we made that mistake and the dining room started turning into an all out club while we were still waiting on our entrees. This time we ate elsewhere and arrived for drinks and dancing after and that struck the perfect balance.
The DJ here plays a great mix of tracks and was also receptive to requests up to a certain point. lol.
No trip to St. Barths is complete without dancing at Bagatelle.
The presentation of the food paled in comparison to other restaurants on the island, and the staff’s casual attire, lacking a uniform, felt out of place for what should be a high-end restaurant, even in the Caribbean. Their lack of passion for their job, the menu, the cuisine, and the overall dining environment was evident (in my opinion)?compared to other staff members and experienced I’ve encountered and had on the island. Side note; I am American where it is customary to leave 18-20% on food and alcoholic beverages for service; It was the only restaurant whose staff inquired about “leaving a gratuity for the staff” as I settled the bill. I wasn’t sure if this was because in St Barth’s you usually have to tell them ahead of time but I thought that was odd. I’ve eaten out every day for 9 days and this was the only time I’ve been asked.
PS, the presence of the “friends” outside, with the staff attributing it to the Caribbean setting, was less than desirable, as it was unsettling to have them scurrying within inches during my meal.
A shining exception to this was the team member Leys, who was not my server but was very friendly, checked in several times early on to strike up a conversation.
