For the price, I was expecting way better from the prime rib.. But it was under salted. I did appreciate how you can request it to a certain temperature, but again.. disappointed on having to add salt to a $64 steak. I digress.
The horseradish they made with it though is ridiculously good, WOW!

The scallops were devine. Cooked to perfection.

The baked potato was ok. It had everything needed to complete it….however it came with bacon bits from a bag and a dry not seasoned potato skin. That’s disappointing and attention to detail with restaurants this expensive is everything. Even at home I oil and season the potato before I bake it. It made it unappealing towards the end.

I’ll be back to the sleeping lady but I’ll skip Kingfisher unless their prices start matching the quality of their food.

Service was nice, our waiter was very kind.

Went to the Thanksgiving dinner service. It wasn’t clear on their website that it was a buffet and the price wasn’t posted so I was honestly shocked and horrified that the set price was 75$ per person. I get it, it’s a holiday, but wow. But at least the food was good, right? Not really. Hit or miss- some things were good but some things were actually disgusting- everything was cold and it was a very simple selection of items. The food was served for you lunch lady style which was odd. It was honestly one of the most unappealing restaurant meals I’ve ever had and hands down the most expensive. Almost $200 for two people with tax and tip and that’s without drinks! On top of that the service was not good, all the wait staff seemed new and inexperienced. I wish we had just left when I saw the menu and price because the buyers remorse was nauseating. Don’t recommend at all for holiday buffets. On top of that when you walk in on the path there is a very bad smell like the septic tanks are off gassing:( Hopefully this can spare someone else this bad experience.

To preface, we weren’t guests of the resort, the holiday season limited options & Kingfisher had available reservations. The bldg was pine pole lodge style consistent to the resorts’ style. Although open & spacious, it didn’t impede the ability to carry on conversation at one’s table.
We had reservations for the 5:30 Christmas Buffet, we were seated at a table for two squeezed between a large wooden “shelf” on one side and a table for four 2’ away, a busy aisle on one end of the table and my chair was tucked in with a huge supportive pylon behind it…there were 4 tables in the main room for parties of two diners so apparently this place plans for large parties. The hostess escorted 4 groups through the small two foot space rather than taking a bit linger route through a larger area with EMPTY tables! She was very receptive when I privately & gently inquired why she chose the skinny path (diners walking thru apologized for the disruption to our dining space) and demonstrated responsiveness to the request w/ all remaining escorts. The buffet was adequate, some food a bit more roasted than ideal. The buffet staff were engaging. When we were ready to depart, we caught the attention of a busboy and asked him for our check, he inquired who our waitress was & we HAD NO IDEA! No one had greeted us, introduced themselves, inquired whether we cared for anything from the bar, or filled our water glasses (until our bill was paid & we started uo a convo w/ another table). I think some staff training would go a long way in this establishment.

I went as part of a group of 3 for a celebration. The setting is serene, and we appreciated the personal attention we received to accommodate diverse dietary needs- 1 vegetarian, another gluten and dairy free. The salad was top notch! So fresh. Friendly service. We will return.

Went there for their $25 breakfast buffet. I’ve had a better selection at a gas station. Everything was only slightly warm, the selection was bad (some fruit, a breakfast burrito, some eggs, sausage, and cereal). I put most free hotel breakfasts above this place.

It would not have been bad if it had only been $10. It was $25!

On the plus side, the staff was great and the setting was beautiful.

We got put in the back and it was honestly freezing cold in that room. And I guess they were short-staffed, and I know that the long wait wasn’t our waitresses fault, but it took us 2 hours to finish dinner and our reservation was for 8:00 p.m. we didn’t get out of there until just before 10:00.

Beautiful, quiet restaurant going through a transition. My brisket sandwich was incredibly tender and delicious, but I saw other patrons who were less impressed with more expensive meals. Place was nearly empty. I recommend this as an alternative to the in-town fare: get out and see what’s going on here. The resort’s grounds were stunning at dusk!

We had the set menu. Beautifully presented. Our server, Maria, was above and beyond. She was so intelligently accommodating making us feel welcomed and valued. The bread was so good. The soup was great. I had to control myself not to eat it too much. The rockfish, steak, and vegetables were all fantastic. The desserts were amazing. Return on investment was definitely one of the highest.

The place has tons of potential but seems to be managed poorly. We waited 35 min for our starters that arrived together with our main course. The brocheta was soggy and felt like it stood for 20 min. Chowder was cold. Prime rib was good. We didn’t stay for dessert.

We had dinner reserved during our New Year’s holiday with another family. Upon arrival you get the feeling you will have a great experience. The place is nice, cozy with an open kitchen. However everything went downhill from there. We got greeted and seated to our table but it took a very long while until we got someone to take our drinks order. Then another long while to get those drinks and order entries. Then more long wait to get our main courses. The meat cuts were not cooked to our request so had to be replaced. We wanted some dessert but were afraid it was going to be another big delay. Long story short, we ended up being the last party to leave the restaurant feeling more relieved of the thought of not ever wanting to return. They might have been short staffed that evening but I wont get back for another try.
