Only one word needed to describe this food, WOW! The tenderloin was bigger than I could have imagined and fried to perfection, the stew was so familiar and cozy, and the bbq pork skewer is out of this world good Can not say enough good things, just come and eat!

A hidden gem! The tenderloins are HUGE, and they are delicious. You can get them breaded or grilled.
These are not the thin tenderloins that are mostly breading, the meat is thick and the breading is thin.
Everything was great. Staff was great. We will go back!

Update. I added more photos. The close up pics were leftovers. You can see how thick the meat is and how much breading is used.

I go for the Filipino food. My husband likes the fish dinner and, of course, the tenderloin.

Fontanet Tavern caught my attention when it showed up in my social feed as a place with notable breaded pork tenderloins (I love them; it’s a popular thing in the Midwest, especially Indiana!). And even better, a comment on that post mentioned there are Filipino food items on the menu and the owner is a Filipina! Right then, I knew we had to visit.

Fontanet is a very, very small town. Low and behold, right there across from the Fontanet post office and on the other side of the train tracks is Fontanet Tavern. At first sight, we were like, “uh, is this kinda sketch?!” But as soon as we walked in the door to see the place full of folks enjoying the welcoming atmosphere, scrumptious food, and libations, smiles came across our faces and we knew we were going to enjoy.

And enjoy did we ever, to say the least. I had Dan’s Bloody Mary with beer chaser, and it was darn tasty! We ordered the Filipino Special Meal, and it was dee-lish! Those pork skewers and lumpia were BOMB!!! Our plan was to order the breaded pork tenderloin to take home for dinner later, but sadly that popular menu item had them sold out. But no worries, we’ll be back soon to try it, and many times after I’m sure to enjoy the great food and company!

Maui bid me adieu with a Licor 43 beer shot (TASTY!!), we exchanged info, and Fontanet Tavern will now forever be a place we visit! Note – they are cash only, and they have an ATM onsite.

The food is great, like really great. I had the fish and chips, came with coleslaw, fries and hush puppies. Unfortunately, I saw a cochroach on my beer glass, and I lost my appetite. I showed the owner, she didn’t say anything, apologize, take care of the bill or acknowledge in any way. The place is old and not the cleanest.

Husband and I were on a motorcycle ride, going past this little tavern, decided to stop for a drink & something to eat. Best decision ever! Food was amazing and HUGE PORTIONS! We brought over half of it home. Staff was awesome. Good music, nice little crowd, not quiet but not obnoxiously loud. If you ever find yourself near this little “hole in the wall” I would definitely recommend stopping!

Great place with great food. A little off the beaten path but worth the trip. Try the Philippines specialties. Super nice people as well.

First time visiting the Fontanet Tavern. Passing through taking the scenic route from Rockville to Brazil.
We were there at opening time and the pizza oven wasn’t fired up and ready quite yet. I went with my second choice from the menu and it did not disappoint.
The pork skewers, egg rolls, and the giniling stew were all fantastic!
I’ve had many Bloody Marys over the years and theirs are up there with the very best I’ve enjoyed. Ice cold beer on tap. Excellent service, friendly owners.
We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area visiting.

Surprisingly this location has been upgraded and the food was delicious. New ownership has this place clean and remodeled! We got the nachos which were amazing and a large portion as well as Joes chicken. When you are in the area stop.

Fontanet tavern has been a landmark for years and years in our little small town. No matter who has owned it. Current owners hit it out of the park and plus some. Amazing food. Tell em Danny sent ya!
