We popped into this little Thai restaurant rather spontaneously after an evening at the nearby theatre — and we’re so glad we did. Tucked away down a cobbled side street in Monmouth, it truly feels like a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and friendly, creating a relaxed, wholesome atmosphere and it’s BYO with £3 corkage or £2 per can (worth knowing- ice land nearby! Ha!) that instantly put us at ease.
The food has a wonderfully authentic, home-cooked feel — comforting, fresh, and full of flavour. We started with prawn crackers, which were superb, and then shared a variety of stir fries with different proteins. The prawns were incredibly juicy, the tofu perfectly cooked, and everything tasted fresh and high quality. The Stir Fry Pad Ga Pow is an absolute must-try if you enjoy a bit of heat — I asked for mine extra spicy and the chef happily accommodated.
We also ordered egg fried noodles and fragrant jasmine rice, both light yet satisfying. We didn’t feel overly full — just comfortably content. Service was warm and genuine, with Prae proving to be an energetic and bubbly host.
Cearly popular for takeaway too. If you’re looking for authentic Thai food with heart and flavour, this place is an excellent choice. Only open Thurs, Fri, Sat.

Visited on a busy Friday evening and the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. Lovely little bistro up a cobbled street. The staff were very attentive and the prawn crackers were amazing, I had the beef massaman curry and the flavours were delicious. The food tasted very fresh and homemade. It’s the nicest Thai food I’ve had – will definitely be back to try more of the menu

What an excellent place! We love thai food and was not disappointed. Can adapt practically everything to vegan as all made from scratch which was fantastic for us plus we we able to take the dogs as we often find it difficult to find places that cater to both. We had veg spring rolls, tofu pad thai without egg and tofu Massaman curry. Delicious and they do takeaway too! Would have definitely gone back if we’d been staying for longer and will return if in the area again!

Really enjoyed my experience at Whole Earth Bistro! It’s so nice to have an alternative cuisine in Monmouth that is full of flavour. The staff are friendly and helpful, the service was great and bring your own booze is a little bonus. We had quite a feast with spring rolls, prawn toast and king prawn butterfly to start and pad Thai for mains. So tasty, will definitely be back!

Dropped by for an impromptu dinner en route to local theatre. Food was ok but not outstanding, dinner for two came in around £64. The premises is unlicensed but you can take your own for a small corking fee.

This little wholesome restaurant is hidden down a cobbled side street of Monmouth. Home made Thai recipes, we shared a vegan Pad Thai and vegan Tom Yum with additional rice, light and flavoursome food. They left us full, but not feeling uncomfortable. Good and friendly service without any bells or whistles, perfect if you need a quick pit-stop between quests. They also serve breakfast and more traditional British lunch menu. Homemade frozen meal are available to takeaway, which is such a novel idea!
