We tried The Wild Elephant. The atmosphere was okay, not intimate, too much light, the tables were too large and too close to each other, I could clearly hear the conversations of the table next to me. The food was alright, I’d give it a 7 out of 10. To be honest, this was my first time eating Thai food, but what I ordered didn’t reel me in. I did like my husband’s order. Not sure if I’d try again. You might enjoyed it though.

We were seated within 2 minutes by the friendliest people. The food was AMAZING. The entree portion size was more than enough. My only regret is that I didn’t save room for desert and the Vietnamese tiramisu was sold out I’ll have to return in March when I’m back in the ROC.

What a delight! Wild Elephant is peppered with style, and the food is outta’ sight! We had the red curry with tofu – which was served by Rich – with kind hospitality. Delish from start to finish! We even indulged -with a pair of sweet drinks! Do not skip the Thai Coffee and the iced Thai tea to match! Creamy and sweet – dances on the tongue and will bring a smile to any face! Portions are GENEROUS and the flavor remarkable. Try the fried ice cream – tastes like a fresh donut! This is a must-try restaurant in Rochester. Thank you Rapp Family for bringing this place to life!

Wild Elephant is my new favorite place for lao and thai food in Rochester. We had such a good time and the food was delicious!

Food was very good. I ordered the Pork Belly, Crab Rangoons, and Pork Pot Stickers. They were all fantastic. The creme brulee was so good. The fried ice cream flavor was faint, but good. The tiramisu is big enough for 2 people but is also good. All of the staff were very kind.

Tried Wild Elephant Thai and really enjoyed it. I had the Thai fried rice, which was somewhere between good and excellent, with a solid portion size. The vegetable spring rolls were also tasty, but the real standout was the peanut sauce—absolutely delicious. Overall, a nice spot to grab a good meal.

I ordered Lad Nah which is wide noodles and egg with your choice of protein (I chose veggies) and a Thai gravy. It was good and I’d recommend to others as good but I wouldn’t order it again. Kinda boring. I feel if you choose veggies as your protein they should give you EVERY veggie. Mine had mostly sweet peppers and bit of zucchini sliced small and thin so you could barely taste it. Also green beans and small amount of sliced carrots. The veg should all be uniform and same size in my culinary opinion. I’d love some mushrooms and eggplant too. The meal was $16 and a good portion size! I’d go back and try something else.

Just to clarify this is a higher than a normal 4 rating but not quite a 5. I would say 4.5/5. We really enjoyed our dinner at the Wild Elephant. They didn’t have a kids menu which was a little drawback. The service was outstanding. Food ratings below.

Spring Rolls: 3/5 – not that impressed
Crab Rangoon: 5/5 – not too much breading
Satay: 4.5/5 – nice curry flavor
Chicken Pad Thai: 4/5 – good, not great
Mango Sticky Rice: 5/5 – Excellent

If I could give it 6 stars I would. The food here is unparalleled and marvelously seasoned. The atmosphere is very clean. I find the decorations and paintings quite interesting and delightful to observe. All that said, the service is in the top two of all of the restaurants I have ever been in and I have been in very many. The hostess was so cheerful and kindly explained the entrees to each of us and helped up to pick. The host or server was just as amazingly helpful and polite. He would explain to us different things about the food and preparation. Each one of us (4) were absolutely blown away with our appetizers, entrees, drinks and oh boy, the deserts. Try the creme roulette. This was a pleasure to experience and i will repeat venturing to the Wild Elephant. Pinky promise, Pang.

We had a great meal here and it was our first visit but we’ll be back. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Seems like a lot of nice people hang out here because there was a nice vibe.
