The Plank Road Tavern opened its doors in early December 2010 with a response from our customers that has been very positive. The concept was based on creating a place to go and enjoy a nice “Midwest Craft beer” with fresh gourmet pub fare. The Plank Road Tavern is not your typical “college” or “local” bar. The dark walnut wood, dim lights, and candle lit tables create a unique, laid-back atmosphere, but still versatile enough for you to enjoy the latest sporting events on any of our five flat panel TV’s. Our restaurant has a diverse and unique menu that has been met with very positive reviews. The Plank Road Tavern is great place for you to meet with colleagues after work or just enjoy a night out with close friends.

The bartenders at plank road make everything perfect. From Justin to all the others who’s names escape me make me feel like they are home. I am so grateful for how wonderful they are and think they are the coolest people. My favorite bar in Lakewood hands down! The employees always are the difference and the incredible food also helps. We had a private party here for a milestone birthday & it turned out great ! Our guests had nothing but complements anout the party. We wanted an Irish Pub vibe & absolutely got that. 85+ guests, a full house & service was excellent. Owner Kevin Pap is super easy to work with, remembers & executes EVERYTHING you want. ( Even though I’d been a bit uneasy, as the lawyer in me wants to document everything in advance, and Kevin is a bit more “relaxed” about that.) Reasonably priced, too.

Awesome!!! Had A great time with my wife!! The food was awesome Sheppard’s pie and Reuben egg rolls absolutely delightful the Staff Kevin, Meagan, and Melissa make you feel like you’ve been a friend for years.

Great tavern!!! We were there for a wedding reception and the food was soooo good. Bartenders were friendly, and the owners are very nice people. Great atmosphere. Would be my local bar if I lived closer.

I visited this place for the first time about a week ago and the second time this weekend. We just moved to the neighborhood from Portland and LOVE that they have my favorite beer on tap Stella as well as a decent selection of bourbon. I am terrible with names but one time I had a female bartender and she was definitely a 5 star bartender and the second time was a male bartender he was professional but seemed to serve the regulars first even though they just sat down. He got 3 stars and here we are the a total average of 4 stars. Great Bar haven’t tried the food but will be back.

We went to Planks and our very polite and very sober Black male friend was blatantly discriminated against. He sat at the bar for nearly 30 minutes without service. Once he was served, he ordered three beverages at once to not have to sit at the bar and be blatantly ignored any further during our two hour stay there. He also ordered food. When the server brought us our food, our friend asked for a side of ranch. The server told him it would be $1 extra, which he agreed to without hesitation. The server brought the ranch back to him, stuck his hand out to him, and asked for ONE DOLLAR immediately, rather than adding to any of our open tabs. Our friend gave him the dollar and tipped him an extra dollar as well. The manner that he asked in and the way he stuck out his hand to our friend was clearly indicative of thinking he wasn’t going to pay and/or was trying to get out of paying the ONE dollar that he agreed to pay. No other individuals at our table of ELEVEN (11) were treated this way at all, besides our Black friend. It should be added that our friend did not complain once and was nothing more than polite, patient, and compliant, despite the clear mistreatment. The blatant racism was disgusting and we will absolutely not return to this establishment or ever support them again. So sad to see! Awful awful service and experience. I am leaning ZERO stars and urge others to be educated in the establishments they’re supporting and the way they treat POLITE, PAYING customers due to their skin color.
