We decided to eat there for our monthly family luncheon, formally Walter’s Grill now Kurbside Kitchen offers a nice lunch menu with fresh food and friendly staff. We had chicken tender plate and a fried catfish plate. My wife commented the catfish was fried perfectly, not greasy like some have them. Overall it’s a nice place to come and eat a hot meal and relish old memories of Walter’s Grill.

Great homemade chicken salad! Staff was friendly and proud of the history of the grill. Famous hotdogs were recommended by the customers. Variety of items are on the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Highly recommend! Mr. Bill the 30yr owner has it up for sale for $250k for someone looking a small business with deep roots.

First thing, get this straight. Kurbside Kitchen (Kurbside Bar & Grill) in Murfreesboro, NC actually WAS Walter’s Grill since 1944 until just last year.

Walter, born the year that the Titanic sank, ran the grill, until he was robbed and shot there in 1975. His wife Janet, carried on the restaurant until it was sold to Billy Theodorakos. Recently Chris Owens bought the restaurant changing the name. Now to the food.

For the traditionalists, there is the original side of the restaurant with the old counter and booths where oodles of great hot dogs and burgers were served. Then there’s the newer side, almost a sports bar.

Twice in eight days we stopped to eat there, and the food was excellent both times. The service was great the first time, but our orders came out piecemeal on the latter visit.

But the food! First stop we had the seafood special, flounder and shrimp. Linda had the same the next time but I opted for the Mahi bang bang tacos! Just wow!

So Kurbside is savoring the past and sumptuously serving the present. It’s worth the stop!

Great breakfast buffet on Saturday.
We’ll that didn’t last long. Food wasn’t not the same each Saturday the last few weeks. No busicuits last Saturday and the potatoes were different. Not as good as it has been.
Come over this Saturday and they were not open due to equipment issues. ? Really? I predict this business will soon fail as most do. How do you screw up breakfast? It’s the easiest meal to make. Unfortunately there isn’t a good breakfast in the 3 county area.
Bacon eggs grits and home made biscuits isnt rocket science. Only thing posituve was the service was great.

Food there is great. I love the breakfast. Just one issue that I have an I’ve noticed it several times. When you get a hamburger or hotdog fixed even though they wash their hands they don’t put gloves on. I’ve seen a box with gloves right on the counter. Sometimes they wear them sometimes they don’t. That’s the only issue that I have.
