A very warm and friendly atmosphere for a lovely dinner.
The cheese garlic nan was on point, so delicious.
Nice food, not too spicy and very well presented.

Our first time at this restaurant, we were greatly pleased with their lunch plate-of-the-day, which offered several options at a reasonable price. This was served with large portions of the entree and included rice, naan bread, and a drink. Vegetarians and carnivores will be pleased with the choices. The staff are friendly and the flavors are wonderful. I was particularly impressed with the freshness of the vegetables in the vegetarian curry. We look forward to returning for dinner soon. Muito obrigado!

I take my family here whenever we have a desire for Indian cuisine and over the years, we have always been happy with the menu, including the vegetarian options. The chefs here know how to prepare vegetables so that they are tasty but retain their crunchy texture. Of the 4 Indian restaurants in Viana do Castelo, The Royal Indian stands out for tasty food and friendly and efficient service. As for negatives, the only discomfort we experienced was that the kitchen fumes seemed to be entering the dining area.

The food was fantastic, we were able to choose the spiciness level, and the ladies were super nice! When we requested no cilantro in the food, because it tastes bad to us, they listened to us and every dish we ordered, including the naan, came without cilantro. We were very happy!

I spent two nights in Viana do Castelo and had dinner here in both of them! The food is delicious. We had tasty onion bhaji, cheese garlic naan, lamb with lentils, chicken tikka masala and palak paneer. The food is amazing, not expensive and the service is quick. One of my favourite indian restaurants ever.

To vary from the wonderful cuisine in Viana, chosed a Very nice and accessible € Indian Restaurant
Loved Lamb Josh with Pilow Rice and garlic naan bread
Wanted a real tea masala with all the spices but
Was served an instant masala tea (bag in a cup with milk)
But the tea was the wrong choice
Better off with a lassi ?!!!
Anyway it was all in all a very nice meal

They waited until the end of my meal to tell me their card reader was out of batteries so I paid with cash and they shorted me 10 euros on my change. I am on a work trip and would not have eaten here if they told me I couldn’t pay by card since it’s against my companies policy. Food was good and the server was nice. I try to believe the best in people so maybe it was just a simple mistake on their part but if I’m honest with myself I feel like they took advantage of me.

I had a pleasant experience here. The pani puri hit the spot, although the puris were not filled enough, still tasty.
The pakora prawns were a miss. Flavors good, prawn cooked well, but undercooked (raw) batter on the inside and not crispy at all, which ruined the enjoyment. Also, because I had to take the prawns out of the batter, I noticed they were not de-veined.
The fish curry was quite lovely and on par with my favorite Indian dishes back home.
Garlic Naan, and jeera rice both good.
