Wish all little restaurants in Madison had this kind of unique feel. The choose-your-own-ingredients Noodle bowls are deliciously fun (Spicy broth and Udon noodles if I could suggest). When I give it a 5 for atmosphere…..it’s the character…..far from fancy…..but big on cozy.

I got the Chicken and Mushroom clay pot rice and the Fried Rice with Diced Pork and Chinese Broccoli. This was definitely one of the better Cantonese style meals that I have been able to find in Madison. The claypot rice did not come in a clay pot so the bottom did not get as crispy of a bottom as I would hope for, but it was still delicious and a great to find in Madison.

Small Chinese restaurant, basically like a hole in the wall. Could easily have been transported from NY Chinatown or China. Limited seatings, more suited for quick student meals or takeaway. Dishes are pretty authentic esp the roast pork belly, crispy thin skin, I am in impressed like what you get in Malaysia. BBQ pork is not bad. Chow mien came out piping hot but very oily.

Words can’t express my extreme frustration and anger with this restaurant. Arrived at 11:50, placed order for 4 entrees, paid in cash, there was no food came to our table at all. I started questioning them at 12:20 why there wasn’t any food, and the guy finally gave me two of them, while the other two entrees were still no show at 12:45. My family all hungry and angry at this point, I asked for a refund for the other two items, the guy initially was very reluctant to give me my money back and still told me they were working on it. The only orders they were working on were the to-go, that was it!!! Finally I got the money back and ate McDonald’s. Your time is worth more than waiting for them, what they should have done at the first place was not to take so many orders and remind people there is a long wait, like any other restaurant would have done. What a joke and I would never be back. Ever.
Not an apology for the whole experience by the way, they didn’t care.

Stopped to get the Char Su. Showed him on my phone exactly what I wanted as I had saved it to place my order. He came out and set a bag on the counter and walked back into the kitchen without saying anything to me. I couldn’t even ask for some hot mustard on the side. I get home and I get a small container of meat. No noodles. No rice. Nothing. Just meat and sauce all over the inside of the bag. I paid $13 for just meat ?? So disappointing. Will never return.

Ordered the beef chow fun 干炒牛河. The flavor was spot-on, and portion size was a solid B+. Points deducted for a bit too much oil, and less beef than you’d expect for $13. I prefer thicker noodles in this dish, so this one was more of a beef pad thai than a beef chow fun.

Have to wait 2 hours for food. Food is also sometime tastes really bad and does not taste fresh. Way overpriced. And they treat you like if you owe them money would give you attitude for no reason.

Amazing quality food for a totally reasonable price! A bit small in seating availability but a very friendly environment and close to UW campus as well. A lovely taste of Hong Kong cuisine.
