A random visit and had the fortunate opportunity to talk to the friendly Steve, and gotten some of the menu items. The pulled pork, collard greens and the quarter chicken were all super moist and tasty, and are a huge differentiator to a number of BBQ places I’ve visited in recent weeks across Washington state. Give them a try if you’re in the area!

Frequent customer here. It’s the best barbecue I’ve ever had. There’s a big difference between meat that was factory processed and Steve’s which is prepared from scratch. His brisket is marinated for several days. His chicken breast is juicy and flavorful (when most places it is dry). The sides are good enough to be a meal by themselves. All my life I hated coleslaw until I tried Steve’s. The prices might seem high but it’s sales tax already included and lots of effort goes into this bbq. I certainly get what I pay for.

I wanted to keep this place a secret so I could have it all to myself, but because I live 25 miles away, I knew I couldn’t get there often enough to keep them in business by just my purchases. Sooo, here’s my review.
First of all before I talk about the food,. this place was so unpretentious and the service was so friendly, my expectations of how good the food would be came up a little short of what it truly was.
The brisket was, if not the best I’ve ever had, it was right at the top of the best I have ever had. There was an exquisite bark on the brisket, and it was so tender and juicy I was cutting it into bite size pieces with a plastic fork. The sauce was a delicious and a very good compliment to the meat but not overbearing at all. Unlike too many BBQ places, the prices were extremely reasonable.
From now on I will be thinking of excuses to drive from Oak Harbor to Anacortes to delve into this delicious barbecue.

By far the best BBQ I’ve had in the Anacortes , Steve is a wonderful guy , had me try some of his chicken breast , even though I was going with the ribs and offered my girlfriend some collard greens . Real deal BBQ best collard greens I’ve ever had , and the ribs were too damn good . -John

Absolutely my favorite bbq place in town! I tried when the other places weren’t open and I haven’t stopped going since. He makes good conversation while he’s preparing the food and his food is amazing! Im very picky about my greens and his is sooo delicious
