I asked for no onions, lettuce or tomato’s, and got it all on my enchilada along with more water on my plate and a gross, liquid guacamole.
Will just go to the other Mexican restaurant next time
The food:
The beans and rice were very flavorful and had a great texture; the chile relleno was light and very cheesy, but also very filling; the carnitas were heavenly; and the torta was SO GOOD and HUGE! It was all so flavorful and cooked perfectly.
My only complaint was with the shredded chicken. It was kind of bland and a little on the dry side.
The service:
The staff were all very friendly and did their best to accommodate the customers.
The atmosphere:
The space is clean and well kept, but the animations on the digital menu were a little distracting and made reading the menu a little tough at times.
I ordered the super nachos with shredded beef, and my fiance ordered the super quesadilla with carne asada, and a pastor super burrito. I was pleased with the price of the food, seemed reasonable to me. But I was nervous that my nachos were going to be soggy by the time I got them home, which was another 15 min drive after I pick them up (total 30-45 mins from the time ordered). The staff at the register was very pleasant and polite. The restaurant was fairly busy inside and appeared clean. The food smelled amazing on the drive home!!
I was extremely surprised that my nachos were not soggy at all! The chips were warm and crunchy and seemed to be freshly made, but I cannot confirm that. I think my nachos did not get soggy because the pico de gallo had almost no juice, and I appreciate that on nachos. The pico was really good…all fresh ingredients, and had great flavor. The shredded beef was also amazing, and also had no juice or grease from the beef to make the chips soggy. I normally don’t fully finish my nachos because I don’t like the chips when they get soggy. I finished the whole thing (regrettably lol), and was extremely full after.
My fiance was impressed with his super quesadilla, as this is something he has been ordering from every taqueria he goes to, and lately has been frustrated that they are too small, not enough cheese, or too greasy, and one of the places we order from on a regular basis only gives him a regular quesadilla sometimes when he has paid for the super. So he said he was impressed with the size, and the goodies it came with, and it was not too greasy. He said the Carne asada was a little salty but didn’t bother him. He also enjoyed his Pastor burrito, and had zero complaints.
As someone who is from the bay area I am accustomed to very good authentic mexican food….and since moving the Sacramento area, I have not been impressed with many of the taquerias (especially in the immediate area from Wheatland to Yuba city). So far I am impressed with 3 Hermanos, and can’t wait to try more of their dishes!!
