My wife and I are foodies at heart and truly appreciate delicious food. Many restaurants have good food, but phenomenal food is extremely hard to find. Our meal tonight at Herbst Eatery far exceeded our already high expectations. Everything was amazing—nothing was merely good; everything was exceptional.

We sat at what I would call the Chef’s Table, a narrow single booth to the right of the kitchen, where we got to see all the magic happen. Chef Greg and Grant were both amazing and a pleasure to talk with and learn from as they prepared each extraordinary dish for the restaurant’s patrons.

Shout out as well to our amazing server, Ella!

Normally, we would be snapping pictures of our food, but we were so immersed in the flavors, conversations, and overall experience that we completely forgot to take any photos. I guess that’s further proof of how much we enjoyed our evening.

This is a must-visit restaurant—you won’t be disappointed.

This is my new favorite spot in the city! It’s such a beautiful space and the food is INCREDIBLE!!! No joke. We got everything the waitress recommended and she did not steer us wrong. What lovely people and service as well. We sat out on the terrace which was so lovely. The indoor seating was very chic and they have a private dining room too. Highly recommend!

Rating only the Brunch menu for now! The duck waffle was amazing!! Complex flavors, everything worked so well together, presentation was amazing. We also got the risotto, but it was really nothing interesting, and boring flavor profile. But seriously the duck waffle was amazing so I have no doubt they have more amazing and unique dishes like this for their dinner menu. So excited to try more!!!

One of my favorite spots in the cities. Have been there multiple times now, each time we rave about the food for days and weeks after. Dinner is about $50/80 a person (including a drink/appetizer). Money VERY well spent.

We had an incredible brunch experience at Herbst Eatery, seated at the chef’s counter with Grant and his team. The service was outstanding, warm, attentive, and personal. You can tell the team genuinely cares about creating a special experience.

We ordered the Danish pancakes (æbleskivers), omelette, breakfast sandwich, and hash browns, every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The herbed vermouth sauce on the omelette was a standout, and the hash browns were golden, crisp, and delicious. Watching the team work in the open kitchen added a fun, behind-the-scenes energy to the whole experience.

We also enjoyed a mimosa and Bloody Mary, both well-balanced and refreshing. As a sweet surprise, Grant gifted us a loaf of chocolate chip banana bread to celebrate a birthday, such a thoughtful touch that made the morning even more memorable.

From start to finish, this was one of the most thoughtful and delicious brunches we’ve had in the Twin Cities. Highly recommend sitting at the counter if you can watching the magic happen makes it all the more special.

This restaurant really gets it. From the locally-sourced ingredients to the thoughtful service, everything feels intentional and well-executed. They made an extraordinary effort to ensure everything was Celiac safe and that was a big deal for us. The Duck dish and the Risotto were absolutely delicious, you can taste the difference when a kitchen cares this much about quality. They work with local farms and producers whenever possible, and it shows in both flavor and freshness. Our server was fantastic, super friendly and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable, with a nice energy that makes it perfect for everything from casual dinners to special occasions. The full proof funky cocktail was innovative and perfectly balanced, the way the structure their drinks menu is super cool and inclusive with full proof to n/a. This is the kind of place that makes dining out feel special again.

What a Find! Exploding with flavor and atmosphere, this modern farm fresh culinary wonder will awaken and satisfy your taste buds, and smooth your soul.
Tucked away in this quaint area in Saint Paul, it is worth driving any distance if you live in, or are visiting the Twin Cities. With top chefs preparing exquisite dishes, accompanied by a perfect cocktail or hand crafted soda, you won’t be disappointed. I enjoyed the grilled prawns, and the grilled artichoke hearts, with the outstanding Focaccia bread (do not miss this focaccia, it’s worth breaking your grain free diets!)
I missed the adjoining farm stand but given the fine quality of my dining experience I am sure it is most excellent. Highly recommended!
Thank you Herbst Eatery team for a wonderful experience on my visit.

Gorgeous food and the yummiest food. I love this farm to table experience and how the dishes didn’t leave me feeling heavy. I left satiated and felt like the tastings of everything we had were so satisfying. We had a party of 6 and got a bunch of starters, entrees, sides and grains and it worked great for nibbling on everything and getting enough. The vibe there is stunning and it just all was perfection all around.

We tried this new eatery for a birthday dinner, and it did not disappoint.

My favorite dish was the spaghetti with parmesan, pine nuts, and lemon zest. Everything we tried was delicious and had delightful textures and unique flavors. My partner enjoyed her cocktails. Our only regret was not having room for dessert!

The indoor dining space is lovely. They also have a patio and a very cute farm stand attached next door.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to enjoy some good food.
