We love shopping at Monte’s store. We buy fresh eggs, homemade butter, and local honey. Homegrown tomatoes are ready and they are delicious. **update** cafe is a great addition. Breakfast and lunch served until 2.

Owner is a great guy! Fantastic food. These are the kinds of “homey” small town feel restaurants the community needs to support and keep open!

I’m from South Central PA. Definitely a PA DUTCH girl. I was so excited to see an Amish store so close to my home. They carry Martin’s chips, Pennsylvania Dutch birch beer, Lebanon bologna, all kinds of jellies, jams and other preserves. Hand crafted butter, baked breads. Owner was super outgoing and friendly. Another customer told me that the made to order sandwiches are wonderful. Hoping he can get me some scrapple! I will definitely visit again.

Overall it was OK. The food wasn’t great and wasnt bad. It was OK. The service was friendly but slow and took a while to get our food (maybe short staffed?). The premises were clean and had a nice family diner/café feel, but were small and filled up quickly.

On 7/26/25 I was excited to check out the market, but left disappointed. The only items I picked up were jars of Jalapeno pickled eggs and beet pickled eggs, both expired in May 2025. After seeing the expired products there was no way I would even consider looking at the repackaged foods. My friend bought two tomatoes and we left. Not a good experience.

Really disappointed. I went for tomatoes, but they were exactly the same as the flavorless hothouse offered at my HyVee – for $2 more per pound.

Very few other items on the shelves in a very small space. It was a waste of time & gas to drive 40 miles round trip. lf I lived closer, I might pop in for the butter & sugar free jam.

Amazing hometown service, baked sourdough bread is good! And fresh produce, without standing outside in the farmers’ market

I had heard about this store and tried it out yesterday. Got a great sandwich and some snacks. The staff working there were definitely not Amish, but the inventory seemed to be. My biggest concern was as I left the store I noticed several stickers on the door. One in particular caught my eye and I was very disappointed. That kind of language should not be placed on a door of any kind. I’m hoping it was on there before this shop took over and they realize they need to remove it. Once it’s gone, I’ll be back.

As this store just opened it has limited inventory of what I have found in most Amish markets. There are several spices and quite a bit of popcorn toppings as well as jerky. The sandwiches looked great but I did not go at mealtime.
