Today was the second time I received fries that tasted like no seasoning was added at all. I ordered sour cream, but what I got was basically plain fries. If I wanted unflavored fries, I could have just gone to McDonald’s.
I went back to the counter and politely asked if they could add a little more seasoning. The manager told me it was their policy not to take any food back once it had been handed to the customer, and that I would need to pay 50 cents for extra powder. I agreed and paid. But after I paid, they suddenly took my fries back to add the seasoning. That was confusing because I was just told they couldn’t take the food back. I assumed they would give me the extra powder in a small container on the side.
What really bothered me was the manager’s attitude. Instead of apologizing for the issue or trying to help, he came across as rude and dismissive, and focused on repeating the policy. Then he didn’t even follow the same policy after I paid, which made the whole interaction feel inconsistent and frustrating. To make things worse, some of the staff were even laughing during the situation, which made the experience feel even more disrespectful.
This place could really benefit from better customer service training. A little courtesy and consistency would make a big difference.
There’s days where the fries are fresh & crisp & then there’s others where they are soggy & cold…
Hopefully their prep standards go up…until then I’ll travel to Santa Anita’s potato corner.
While I’m not a big fan of wings or chicken tenders, I do enjoy the food from Potato Corner. However, the lack of customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The staff, who seem to be fresh out of high school, never acknowledge me when I pick up my order. They simply hand it over without so much as a “thank you,” even when I make the effort to thank them first.
It’s clear that the young employees lack the work ethic and customer service skills necessary for this job. It’s frustrating as a customer to be treated with indifference, especially when all I’m doing is ordering food. A little politeness and appreciation can go a long way, but unfortunately, that’s been missing every time I’ve visited.
