We popped in for lunch after some Christmas shopping to try this new place out.
Service – outstanding, Jason was on point and everything was perfect. He was not overbearing and was fun to chat with. He also explained everything as this restaurant you cook your own food.
Food – Excellent, all you can eat. The price was definitely fair. Was a really cool twist that you cook your own food to your liking.
The restaurant – very clean, bathrooms were spotless, atmosphere was really good.
Overall – 5 stars for us. Very pleasant experience and will go back and we are telling others to check it out.
I unfortunately ate the sushi prior to taking photos. Next time…

This was my second time at Daruma, and once again it did not disappoint. I brought my cousin here to celebrate her birthday, and it ended up being the perfect choice.
Jasmine took incredible care of us all night — attentive, friendly, and made sure everything flowed smoothly without ever feeling rushed. The BBQ is what initially draws you in, and it absolutely delivers, but I was especially impressed by the seafood and nigiri this time around. Both were fresh, well-prepared, and real standouts.
The seafood pancake is a must-try — crispy, flavorful, and easily one of those dishes you keep thinking about after the meal. Everything felt thoughtfully done, from the quality of the ingredients to the overall experience.
Great food, great service, and a fun, memorable spot for a celebration. I’ll definitely be back again.

Amazing service, everything is new, and super cool grills that scrub the smoke from the BBQ immediately as the food is cooking by pulling air from around the BBQ ring.
I only tried the standard menu. As a grand opening promo they included the top menu of the sushi menu. We only ordered the tuna crispy rice and it was 90% crispy rice and 10% tuna.
The meats. The good include the shrimp, squid, any of the pork. The strange include the beef and chicken. I’m not sure how they marinated the beef and chicken but they had a canned taste to them and they were very soft. The scallion beef cubes should be renamed pepper beef cubes.
The first round of meats came in a gorgeous display within a wooden box. Subsequent orders came on neat stackable containers. They really do portion it to one piece per person. The dipping sauce and two seasonings are great but they remind of the street BBQ stands in Asia. The shrimp fried rice, udon noodle soup, fried calamari, and seafood pancake are all good.
For $33 a person not including tax and tip, it was an interesting experience compared to the great Japanese ayce chain around Boston.

Have to say it is a great pleasure to have this establishment in Holyoke. First of its kind in the area, menu is great for both lunch and dinner. Multiple visits along with high suggestions to my co-workers on doing a quick lunch here. Believe it or not the service is fast enough to be in and out within an hour.
Fun for the whole family. The new menu is coming and I am very excited to see what they come out with next.

This place is absolutely worth the price. We did the premium grill. Food was delicious, the quality was great. Our waitress was on top of it!! Continued fill my drinks and asked us regularly if we wanted to order anymore food! 10000 percent will be back and would def recommend to my friends and family

Being a newly opened location, Daruma has exceeded all my expectations. The restaurant itself is elegant with a wooden theme. Many seating options that can be arranged to accommodate wheelchair users. The all you can eat or grill experience is phenomenal as you have the flexibility to choose from standard, sushi add on, or premium which includes sushi and top tier selections of meat.
We were blown away by the presentation of the first order. It came out in a treasure chest and has dry ice and light show. Nevertheless, behind the bells and whistles, the quality of their meat is the real highlight.
If you are doing Japanese bbq for the first time, don’t hesitate to ask. The wait staff are all very friendly and helpful. They circle around to make sure each table are taken care of without being overbearing.

Absolutely Fabulous! I rarely give 5 stars but this place was exceptional!! The food was delicious and the service was top notch! The Server Tylnne was amazing! She is a bubbly personality and genuinely cares about those she serves! I will definitely come back here and I recommend you come by too!

I’m so glad that we have a Japanese AYCE BBQ and Sushi near us. I do wish them great success in this area. If you are new to Japanese BBQ, please give them a try. The food is very good, good quality meat, I did not care for the presentation of the food, but it did made the dining experience special for my toddler. You do have to cook your own food but the service here is really nice. Staff was helpful and offered us help seeing as we were juggling 2 kids under 2 while cooking and eating at the same time. They were attentive and helpful.

The food was very delicious. We also really liked the staff took their time to explain the menu and teach us how to use the grill. We will definitely be returning. Also, you have to try the peppered Ahi Tuna with yuzu!

AMAZING FOOD HERE! This place has a wide selection of food and they all contain high quality ingredients. My expectations were met to the fullest when I came across this restaurant while on my way to Cambridge and was left very satisfied. If you’re craving sushi and BBQ, this restaurant does an excellent job fusing both styles at affordable prices. I loved the presentation of the food, especially how the meat was presented to us, as well as the friendliness of the hardworking staff. Definitely will stop by this place again in the future! I highly recommend getting the japanese fried rice and the seafood pancake off the menu.
