Foodie Find: Bombay Tandoor Bar & Grill – Lansdowne, VA
We arrived just in time for their lunch buffet, and what a delightful experience it was. The spread was generous, aromatic, and full of comforting Indian flavors. From the rich butter chicken and creamy chicken tikka masala to the beautifully spiced vegetable curry, every dish felt thoughtfully prepared.
The real star for us was the chicken biryani — fragrant, flavorful, and layered with spices that truly lingered. Paired with soft, freshly made naan and fluffy basmati rice, every bite felt like a warm hug for the soul.
A special mention to Miss Pooja, our charming and welcoming host, and Mr. Chef, who meticulously looks after the spread with care and passion. Their warmth and attention truly elevated the entire dining experience.

Best Indian Restaurant in Loudoun County and definitely a top South Asian restaurant in the Northern Virginia area! If you have any concerns, definitely talk to the owners instead of posting any negative reviews; they will work to sort out the issues.
My favorite is the Paneer Tikka Masala with Puri. Some of the other paneer dishes are good too. I also recommend Daal for vegetarians. The Butter Chicken is a solid option for non-vegetarians. For dessert, I would recommend their Kulfi and their Gulab Jaman! Definitely try out their buffet as I highly recommended it! A lot of options for both Vegetarians and Non-Vegetarians. They are also great at keeping their buffet items filled! If they run out, they work to quickly replace. Just ask!

I decided to give Bombay Tandoor another chance after a not good experience several years ago. Unfortunately, I found it to still be mediocre. Most disappointing was I ordered my favorite appetizer Veg Pakora and apparently, they don’t know what a fritter is. Instead of a vegetable fritter I got whole pieces of barely cooked vegetable fried in a batter individually. 🙁 Their menu definitely called it a fritter. I also asked for an extra container of Mint Chutney and was told it was in there, but when I got home there was only one. I ordered Dal for the main and it needed salt and more flavor, but was ok. On the bright side, the bread and the rice were fine. So three stars it is.

We had the Valentines Lunch Buffet and we had a good time.
The buffet started with choice of drinks and we had sparkling rose wine.
The menu was a mix of veg and non-veg dishes. The appetizers were good and the chilli chestnuts was outstanding.
They also had a dosa stand .
The dessert selection was good and the jalebi with rabri was something that me and friend’s gorged on it.
Overall a good valentines meal.

We went on a Saturday during lunch time and they had a decent crowd. I will say they have a great selection of food and it all was delicious and fresh tasting. At times we were a bit disappointed with the service as they weren’t attentive when we needed them (refills, napkins) but they were for the majority of the time, cleaning our plates and asking if we needed anything. Would go here again if we are in the area

We’ve been coming here for lunch buffet for almost half a year now. Good selection of food choices. Buffet also included desserts and chai tea. Dosa station guarantee freshy made dosa. The price is good. The manager is very friendly and servers here are attentive and polite. We always enjoy our lunch here and will always come back whenever we’re in the area.

Food is delicious. Authentic Indian. We had a lot of different dishes. We also had a fresh made Dosa, all chicken dishes, they have a great variety. Butter chicken, biryanis, chili chicken, the lamb delicious too. Rice and fresh naan. Salads with a lot of curries and drippings and delicious desert as well. The price is very good too. I even think that the price is low for such a great quality of the food, the selection and the atmosphere.

Bombay Tandoor is very elegant with upscale customer service. It was our first time eating Indian food, so we took a chance on the suggestions that Poornima laid out for us. She was respectful of our diets. The KonKan Fish and Chicken Tikka Marsala with rice, they were both light and flavorful but filling. A great experience, gotta try the bar area next time!
