I haven’t been to Captain K’s in a while, since I’ve been watching my caloric intake. This was a cheat day, so I decided to get the whiting meal. Big mistake! The restaurant is under new ownership and it’s no longer our great little seafood restaurant that we’ve known and loved. The whiting tasted like watered down frozen fish with no seasoning. The fries were a soggy, greasy, mess. The prices are higher and the meal was terrible. The staff were friendly and attentive. I wish I’d just gone to McDonald’s instead. If you plan on going here, just prepare yourself for a new experience. If you like the food the way it used to be, I don’t recommend this business.

I actually love the fish but for some reason this one person doesn’t listen this is the 3rd time my order was wrong I told her 3 times no fries I want the house chips I even said like potato chips and what did get… u guessed it… fries

I went there for some good fish. Oh well my experience today was horrible. First I expressed the last time I was there which was two weeks ago I ordered flounder instead I got whiting. Ok I let that pass. When I went in today I informed the person at register about the mistake. She said no worries I got you. Ok I ordered the flounder once more. She told me the order would be ready in 15 minutes. The order came out in 10 minutes and I was shocked. I got home opened my box and the fish was in broken pieces. Lots of grease as if the fish was cooked partially frozen and the batter didn’t adhere. Then the hush puppies was just a ball of dough. They were just browned and that’s it. The fries tasted as if they were previously cooked and reheated. I could see the salt sitting on the fries “extremely” salted.
I will not go back to this establishment. This food is not worth selling to the public. Do yourself a favor and please close.

Flounder has no flavor, fries were burnt, bbq sauce was watery, tar tar sauce taste like ranch and hush puppies were stuck together and burnt… better off making it at home don’t waste you’re money guys…

So after a long days work I come to I thought . order an i reply I am awaiting my lady she looked at me strange as if she didnt comprehend so I say I am waiting my my other guest before i order. Again she looks at me strange again and moments later the man comes in the back comes an ask what do I need an i replied I am waiting on my friend to come order with. Thats when i stepped outside greeting my guest. Anyway long story short show some damn respect Business owners thia shop will not get another cent from me. All that wait time for 8 dollars sad

It was good just different from what I was used to. New owners now. I loved the cocktail sauce from the previous owners and the batter was much lighter not so much breading. On a lighter note I am glad they now have chicken. I would go again and try some other items on the menu.
