We ordered a variety of dishes, including a broccoli and “crab legs” dish. I’ll be honest: overall, the food was just okay. Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out either. We’ve definitely had better Chinese food in the past—flavor-wise, it wasn’t anything to brag about.
The main issue was the crab dish. The menu clearly states crab legs, but what was served was imitation crab. Imitation crab is not crab legs – When we went back to ask the staff what kind of crab it was, the response was basically, “Everyone knows it’s imitation crab.” No effort was made to acknowledge the issue or offer anything in return, which was disappointing.
Had the menu stated imitation crab, we would not have ordered it—especially considering it was the most expensive dish we got. Our total bill came to about $70 USD, and imitation crab is not what we were looking for at that price point. Listing it as crab legs is misleading and not fair to customers.
Another small but noticeable issue: all the food was brought out on shared plates. Since we were eating as a family, we had to ask for side plates. Little details like that matter.
Because of the misleading menu item and the lack of care when we raised the concern, I’m giving this place 3 stars.

Ordered two fried chickens to go, asked for some extra chopsticks and willing to pay extra for them. They charged us $6.5 for 12 chopsticks (Without any notification/communication w us, the charge just came through online ordering system – since now I saw their response – like online ordering has a button for “decline”) (See the snip for how much these chopsticks cost in Amazon – only $0.05/pair!!! I get it – you can charge me twice of the cost, but not 10x!!!) So we had some very mid fried chickens and the most expensive chopsticks. They just want to squeeze as much money as possible out of tourists and don’t care about repeat customers.
And as I saw their responses, they recommended me to purchase “more affordable” utensils from other stores, so you can tell apparently they wanna make a fortune from utensils than other stores.

This is one of a few (if not the only) Chinese place around this area. Regardless, they are not skimping on quality. We came in to get chicken with vegetables, but I was also craving some chicken wings. Well, coming from a Brooklyn native: these chicken wings are 10/10 good. Very crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and flavorful all over.

This is nothing like what it was last year. Food doesn’t taste good anymore. The chicken tasteless, the dumplings as if they were reheated, badly fried egg rolls. The atmosphere is not the best, and the service is not friendly.

They served a fantastic young chow fried rice (chicken, shrimp, bbq pork) with egg – delicious, and served hot and fresh, ingredients felt fresh, it was better than some takeout fried rice in nyc. The staff at China City are helpful and friendly. It was great to have hot food on a cold night!

I ordered 4 things off of the menu and my total was just under $50. I was charged for items I did not order. As you can see by the photos, I ordered 4 items. They mistakenly marked another item and charged me for it. Even worse, our actual order was only 32.75 before tax. I payed 49.68. For 4 items (2 dishes 2 sides). Where did that last $17 mysteriously come from? Is each fortune cookie now $10 each?! I feel ripped off and disappointed. At least they are quick to make the food, but it’s not even worth the price. From now on, it’d be great to see an itemized receipt for all purchases. I feel robbed, honestly.

It was later in the evening and we were craving some quick food and did not want to sit down at a formal restaurant. Don’t let appearances fool you. So this place is near the end or at the beginning of the main strip, depending where you start. I walked in and was little nervous. I looked around and saw some tables in the skinny dining area, menus off to the side and a window pane glass to the right with someone standing there and some cooks going to town cooking with the woks. I stood there for awhile and watched and was really curious and impressed. I have to give this place a shot. So you place your orders on the paper menus on the right, put your name on it and give it to the person behind the glass pane. (my order was to go, it may be different for dining in) The gentleman who was there confirmed my order and was very nice. Told me about how long it would take. (It was an appropriate time, seemed little long, but would be more concerned if it was too quick). I wish I had pictures of the food, it was delicious. Got the shrimp lo mein. It was packed in one of the little to go folding boxes, the fried wontons were great (kids loved them), hot and sour soup (could have been little thicker consistency), and Szechuan chicken (good). We were hungry, so at first was like it was so good because we were hungry. I went back the next day for lunch and it was same quality food. You can even watch the cooks cook the food on the flaming woks back there. Reasonable priced, great food. Just make sure to check your order. Staff was pleasant when I was there.

Got food from here during our visit to lake placid. While the food was below average, the worst was the attitude and professionalism of the girl at the counter. Not only was she not friendly at all, she was yelling, actually yelling, at an uber driver who asked her how long will it be until food is ready. Will not return to this restaurant.
