V busy on a Sat eve. We had a table for 5 and had to wait 15 – 20 mins after our booking time. The staff were good and friendly. The food was mostly tasty but portions for the starters were pretty small. Scallops just 2 small ones on the plate. Pad Thai was sweet and tasted like ketchup. Others were ok but a little disappointed overall.

Had a fantastic experience. I started with the grilled prawns, which were perfectly cooked—fresh, juicy, and full of flavour. For the main course, I had noodles, and they were absolutely delicious, well-seasoned, and served in a generous portion.
The quality and quantity of the food were excellent, and the service was attentive and friendly throughout. The ambience was warm and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. Highly recommended.

Opening night for the House of Yum in Mardol and it did not disappoint. Fabulous food that was of the same great quality as their Market Hall location. The restaurant has a cozy and stylish interior. Service is excellent and very friendly. And the prices are so reasonable!
We will return again

Being Coeliac it is always stressful going out to eat… anyway HOY offer many items gluten-free so I was actually spoilt for choice. Opted for scallops starter and Penang veg curry.. both absolutely delicious The staff and atmosphere are great too. Would highly recommend and I’ll definitely return

Beautiful food made by excellent chefs. Been to both HoY in the market and HoY on Mardol and there is no difference in the quality of food or service. Both impeccable. Best Thai in town!!

It was expensive for what it was. I had Pad Thai which tasted like noodles cooked in ketchup no other flavour was decernable and had maybe 6 pieces of chicken in it. My partner had Massaman beef curry which had 4 small pieces of beef in and was mostly just sauce. Along with spring rolls for starters which had been cooked in old oil so thats all you could taste, it was basically just uninspiring and over priced with a drink each it came to £63, a lot for a relatively tasteless meal. Its also incredibly loud so there’s no chatting – thats not the restaurants fault but its worth being aware of. There are better Thai restaurants in Shrewsbury I recommend trying one of them. Nothing offensive about this one just nothing to recommend it either.

It was a very busy Saturday night, table of 6 food was good and service was quick. Problem occurred when the bill came, I don’t normally pay too much attention but noticed we’d been charged for 4 prawn crackers instead of 2, quickly sorted by the staff and new bill arrived. At this point I read through the bill and noticed drinks that we hadn’t had, extra pints and cocktails, staff sorted but in all a £45 reduction in the bill. Felt that they’d try to rip us off! Soured an otherwise nice evening.

Fantastic experience on what was a busy Saturday evening with great service from friendly staff. We shared the chicken satay starter, I had the prawn red curry and my husband had the monkfish panang – all of which were amazing! We will come back again!
